CHAPTER EIGHT

Oh my god. What is happening. Just until a moment ago everything was perfectly fine. It was all rainbows and sunshine. But now everything has started to turn into darkness. What game are you trying to play god?

I am in a taxi on my way to the hospital. I just hope it is about mom's discharge or something good. Please god. Me and dad have gone through enough.

I reach the hospital and run towards the end of the never ending corridor. Upon reaching to the end as I am about to enter the room. A nurse stops me and says. "Excuse me sir, but you are not allowed here." "What? Please let me enter." I pleaded.

"I am sorry sir, if you want to enter you need permission." she said. Seriously. I am gonna pass out. I tried calling dad multiple times but it is switched off. Great timing dad. I run to the reception.

"Excuse me." I said. "Yes sir, how am I help you." the receptionist said. "I wanted to know about Mrs. Rebecca Brown. I said. "She has been shifted to the ICU." she said.

This is bad. This is really bad. My mom is in the freaking ICU. The intensive care unit. But why is she shifted in the ICU. She was fine until yesterday. She was talking, she was eating. She was about to come home.

I reach the ICU. Before going to mom. I try calling dad again it is still switched off. What are you doing dad. I need you here right now. I am so stressed I end up calling Sam and Jack. I tried entering the ICU and they let me in. Thank god.

No. This cannot happen. No. This is not happening. Mom is in coma. She isn't talking. She isn't moving. She is gone back to the battle between life and death. I talk to the doctor. "How.. Did this happen?" I asked shaking. "This does not happen very often in these cases. We are trying our best to find out." The doctor said and just went away.

I go out and see Sam and Jack. "Nathan. What happened?" asked Jack. "Nathan. Are you ok?" asked Sam. "Mom... She is gone back in coma.." I said. Upon hearing this the three of us stood there. Shocked.

My phone rang. It was dad. I pick up the phone.

"Hey Nathan. I just saw your calls. What happened." dad said. "Dad.. How many times have I told you NOT to switch off your phone. Come over to the hospital quick." after saying this I hung up.

After an hour dad came running and asked. "Nathan. What happened to Rebecca?" dad asked.

"She went back in to coma." I said. "How did this happen?" dad asked. "Nobody knows." was all I could say.

My mom is back into the state she was in a week ago. She had recovered so much the doctors were about to discharge her. But now it is no longer possible. What do you want god. I have no complaints against you and I still love you god. But why are you doing this with me god. Why?

It's midnight, Sam and Jack are already at their home. I come home and dad is at the hospital he is staying over. And once again I am lonely.
