Today, 30th of March 2016, is the funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Brown. R. I. P. Mom, you will be missed. A lot. I never thought I would be losing you so soon. I was thinking you would live to see me graduate. I thought you would live to see me get married. But I guess I was wrong.

Mom had died yesterday night at 11:45 pm. It was totally unexpected. We never knew mom would leave us so soon. Everyone is devestated. Mom is gone.

She will no longer guide me in life. I have to survive on my own and take care of dad.

People are coming and staying for a while and give us some sympathy. But it is not their fault either they can't bring back the dead. All they can do is confront us by saying everything will be better.

What they don't know is that the person who was the backbone of our home is gone... Forever. The person who was my everything is gone and she will never come back. How am I supposed to live without her?

Sam and Jack with their parents are here in the funeral. "Nathan..." Sam said. "You can let it out now." Jack said. Hearing that I couldn't hold my tears in. So I let it out. I am sitting on the ground crying after seeing this sight.

Jack comes and hugs me followed by Sam. The three of us are in a group hug. With me crying. Once again the both of them helping me when I need them the most.

Dear god, please never take away Sam and Jack from me ever. "Did you guys see mom?" I asked controlling my self now. "Not yet." Sam said. "We came to you first." Jack said. "We thought you would need us." Sam said. "I kind of did actually." I said.

After knowing my condition I realized dad needs me. Right now. I am searching dad. I finally find him at a tree. I go there and see dad is very sad but he isn't crying.

"Dad." And I slowly kept my hand on his shoulder. "You know. I am grown up now. You can let it out now." I said, because he has stayed strong for too long now. If he continues like this, he will break down at any second.

I hug dad and now for the first time ever, he finally let it out now. After holding it in for god knows how long? He let go of me and I asked "Feeling better?"

"Yeah. I didn't know I would be needing that." He said. "You have stayed strong for too long dad. You cannot keep on going like this." I said. "My son has grown this much. That he finally knows how broken I was at the inside." Dad said.

"Yes dad. And from now. I will do everything I can to protect you." I promised. "Thank you Nathan. Thank you." Dad said with tears in his eyes.

Just as this conversation ends the priest comes and says "It is now time for the burial." and leaves.

We bury mom and then we go back home. The ride to home was very silent. Almost as if we didn't exist.

As we reached home. "Dad... Let's go fishing." I said. "Why?" he asked. "It is mom's last wish." I said. "Yeah. She mentioned that when she got better." He said. "Yeah." I replied. "Let's change, get our fishing gear and go. Ok?" he said. "Ok." I replied.

After 30 minutes or so me and dad leave the house and go fishing at mom's favorite pond.

We park the car at the corner and walk through the woods which leads us to the pond. We are walking and talking about the memories we had with mom. Until this two guy with a mask covering his face, pointing his gun towards us and said "Give me all the money you have." "We won't give you a penny." Me and dad said in unison.

Out of frustration he shot his gun towards dad and BOOM! The bullet hit me I came in between just in time. I fall to the ground.

"Nathan! Don't worry my son. I will call the ambulance." Dad said while trying to call 999. "God damn it! There is no coverage over here. Nathan why did you that." He said.

"I promised that I would protect you no matter what." I said my last words weakly.

And this is my story of how I got to the moon. The moon was my favorite thing and we were about to go fishing. By giving me the permission for fishing on the moon. God has given me a chance to mourn for my and mom's death.
