The Last Wish.

CHAPTER 6

AFTER SCHOOL JEM MOVES HIS STUFF INTO MY ROOM AND RILEY SHOWS UP. I sit him down on my bed and tell him everything. He cries, and pulls me into a hug and I wince. God this sucks I ask him "Can you pass me those three bottles on my night stand?" He nods and he hands me my pills I take them and say "Riley I love you so much thank you for always being here for me. Now go, enjoy your last year of school." He nods his head and kisses my forehead hes still crying when he leaves and Jem comes back in "Caspers here." I nod and say "send him in." Casper comes in and says "I got into Princeton." I smile brightly "Thats good baby." He frowns "Yeah but they want me.. Now." I look shocked and say "Well thats great, go away. When do you leave?" He shakes his head "I can't leave you and our baby." I know excatly what I must do and it brings tears to my eyes "I lost the baby Casp." He blinks back tears and shakes his head "How?" I smile wryly "The cancer. And I don't want you to watch me die. I love you Casper Hemmingway, and for that I set you free. Go." Casper has tears running down his beautiful face and he says "No... Pey.." I squeeze my eyes shut "Just go Casper. Just leave." He kisses me "I love you. Peyton Grey and I always will." Then hes gone and Jem crawls into my bed and hold me while I cry. That was one of the hardest things ive done since telling my family im dying. I fall alseep in Jems arms.

I wake up to the sound of Jems voice shaking me "Pey, its dinner time.." I groan and say "My pills." But Jem already places them in my hands and kisses my cheek I take them with a glass of water and Jem helps me out of bed. I sit at the table and mom places a bowl of soup in front of me and I eat it all just for Jems, moms, dads and the babies benefit. When im done I smile at Jem "Hey lets go out for Ice cream. My treat." He frowns "But you can't drive..." I laugh "Just because im dying doesn't mean I can't drive Jem." he smiles too and we get in my car and drive to the ice cream parlor by our house. And when we get back I feel sick, dizzy, and I hit the floor on my knees Jem freaks out as I start coughing, and I see blood all over the floor in front of me. Jem yells for mom and dad and they get me in the car and start speeding to the hospital. And I pass out in the car.
