Not so Sweet Home

After the 3 hour drive, we drove up on the driveway as I got our luggage while Mum payed the Taxi man.

At our front door, a key safe box was screwed onto our door. We unlocked it and our house key sat there, rusted slightly.

We entered inside, rolling our luggage along with us. I looked around to see how gloomy our house looked since the accident.

It was dark and dull, it look very much like an abandoned home.

Furniture was covered up, pictures were taken down and leaned against the wall.

The house was all locked, doors were shut and shutters were closed.

My eyes swelled, beginning to stream the tears I swallowed in before.

What happened to our love filled home?

I walked into my old bedroom and opened the door.

It was still tidied up, just how I left it... 5 years ago.

I looked down at a photo of my Dad and I, remembering that memory I'd run away from, though it always caught on...
