The Debt

Ryou:"Anyway, we should at least go and take a look."

Grabbing my arm, Ryou pulled me to my feet.

Alexis:"W-Wait! Are we really going!?"
Ryou:"Of course, we're submitting the Marriage Registration Form before the day ends."
Alexis:"Why...?
Ryou:"I'll drive you to your place, you have to tell me where to go."

The president was just looking at us, with a stunned experssion on his face, I left the president's office, feeling like I was being dragged out by Ryou.

The car Ryou was driving was getting close to my place, I glanced at his face from the passenger seat. I can never tell what he's thinking because itsvlike he's off in his own little world.

Alexis:"Um, Mr. Saji..."
Ryou:"Ryou."
Alexis:"... Ryou, then. May I ask a question? Why are you such in a hurry to marry?"
Ryou:"You dont need to be so polite, you're older than me, anyway, our marriage is already decided, or do you want me to try the same thing I did yesterday?."
Alexis:"That's not fair..."
Ryou:"Also, your debt is.... $500,000. You can't pay that without me."
Alexis:" True, it's just... I can't accpet it."
Ryou:"I'll explain when I feel like it, hey isnt that your apartment?"
Alexis:"Yes..."
Ryou:"It would be a pain, if one of your neighbors recognized me, so I'll stay in the car, so be quick about it."

I started trudging down the hallways of my apartment, but saw someone standing infront of my room, two guys in suits... They looked familiar though, one of them noticed me, and the other smiled.

Man 1:"Oh, you're home now."
Man 2:"When are you going to pay back your money?"

Even though they talk politely, their voices sounded sharp, and overbearing.

Man 1:"Your making our jobs hard!"
Man 2:"You know, you have to return what you borrowed, right?"
Alexis:"I-I'm sorry...I'll get it to you in a few days."
Man 1:"That's the same thing you said before."
I felt a chill run down, down my back. Suddenly, they grabbed me by the arm, I was so terrified, I couldnt even say anything to protest.

Man 2:"I'm telling you to pay it back now!"
Alexis:"Ahh...!"
Man 1:"If dont, we can make you pay with your body."
Alexis:"N-N-No."
???:"What are you doing...?"

I recognized that voice, and when I turned, I saw my co-worker Adrian standing there.

Alexis:"Adrian...?! Why are you here?!"
Adrian:"Who are you?!"
Man 1:"We're from a loan company."
Man 2:"We came here to get back the $500,000 her father owes us."
Adrian:"$500,000...?! Is that true?"
Alexis:"Y-Yes.."
Adrian:".... Anyways, could you please lay off for now? You know that people cant just come up with $500,000 out of nowhere! If you cause trouble I'll call the police."
Man 1:"....Tch."
Man 2:"Well, we just came by to say 'hi' today, we'll go quietlt, but dont even think about defaulting on your own debt."
Man 1:"And we won't let you declare, bankruptcy either!"

They gave me a dirty look, and left.
