Chapter 5

When I walked into Noah's room, I noticed he was crying, he immediately hung up the phone. He came over to me and hugged me. I let him comfort me but I was still upset and extremely annoyed.

'What's wrong?' He questioned

'Nothing, I just left my charger here that's all.' I mumbled.

'Okay, well about last night...' He drifted off. 'uhm. Sorry but I still don't understand why you stormed off like that, what did I do?'

'What did you do?!' I laughed. 'Noah, I asked you a question last night and you didn't answer honestly. You were flirting with whoever those girls were or your keeping a secret from me and either way that's not good in a relationship.'

'Ask me the question again and I promise I'll answer honestly'

'Who were those girls and why did you mouth 'not now' to them?'

'There weren't any girls and i DIDN'T'

'NOAH I SAW YOU!' 

'Ruby, please, obviously your wrong because I never said that'

I started to think maybe I was going mad but then i remembered the phone call, and what he said.

'I didn't even look at them!'

Now I knew this was a definite lie.

'You're lying through your teeth, just answer this question please Noah, Who were they?'

'Who were who?' he asked

'YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M DONE WITH YOU!' I screamed before I stormed out of his room holding back my tears, only to run into my mum.

'Is everything alright sweetheart?' She asked concerned.

Noah was standing at his door hurt. I can't say I don't feel bad because I do. I looked at him to make sure he knew I was crying. He needed to know how he hurt me. 

I ran out the front door, I heard footsteps coming after me, it was Noah, I kept running. Not sure where I was going. I figured Noah was faster than me, I was right because when I was about to turn the corner he grabbed my arm and turned me around.

'What do you want?!' I said trying to sound annoyed. Good, that's what I wanted to sound like.

'Look Ruby, I'm sorry for lying, okay?'

'No, not okay, you lied straight to my face like 5 times, that's never okay to do, I realised something was going on but I never said anything like your disguise when we went to the movies and how you looked down a lot. Also that 'everyone around here knows you' well maybe they know you more than just friends. I'm not a new idiot you can use to your content.'

'Ruby no, I never meant for you to feel that way, it's not what you think. Do you really want to know who those girls were?'

'No, Noah, I don't because at this point, I couldn't care less.' I said turning away from him and heading back to the house.

He was following me of course but at a respectful distance. I appreciated that. On the walk home, I was considering that I should listen to him, let him explain. I just really want to go home, my real home in Chicago.

As soon as we reached the house I went up to Noah's bedroom. Noah followed me up.

'Can I just have some time to myself please, I need to collect my things.' I pleaded

He nodded and shut the door, I sighed and collapsed on the bed, I was thinking, should I let him explain? Did he deserve to?Who was he talking to on the phone?

I keep trying to answer these questions but if I really want the answers, I need to talk to Noah now. I was about to get up and call his phone when I noticed he left his phone here. I picked it up and swiped it to unlock but it had a passcode. Damn it! I guessed his birthday, no, the day we met, no, romo, YES! Ding Ding Ding!!! We have a winner.

What am I doing. I needed answers. I needed to ease my mind.

I went to his calls and recognised a number, who was it? Is it true? Did Noah cheat on me?

{Noah's POV}

I wonder what she's doing up in my room? I'm going to call her. WHAT! Wait I left my phone in my room. I ran up there and the door was locked, thank god I had my key.

I opened the door to find Ruby on the floor shaking. Her knees to her chest staring at the wall. I walked in the room at the exact moment a tear rolled down her pale cheek. What have I done? 

'Ruby?' She scooted away

I feel like my heart just got stabbed and smashed. I want to take all of this away, I can't live like this.

'Ruby, please'

'It's fine Noah, I'm getting a plane back to Chicago, I've had enough of this.'

'Ruby please, you can't'

'Why not?'

'I need you, your the only thing keeping me going through everything' I pleaded

'Well, Noah I'm sorry but you haven't even told me what 'everything' is'

{End of Noah's POV}

I told my mum and after a long therapudic conversation she said

'If you need to then sure but honey, I can't go, because of my job, so you'll have to go alone until I can afford a house here in LA. But this seems serious to you so just on this one occasion I'll let you go back to Chicago to stay at Alfie's but please be careful'

I nodded, ran to my room and stuffed my clothes in my suitcase, I thought about what Noah said, 'everything' what does he mean. It was no excuse for what he did.

Noah knocked on my door.

'Go away' I snapped

'Ruby, please can I come in'

'fine but be quick, I'm going to be late for the airport'

'I haven't been completely honest, I admit.... But there's something I need to tell you...'
