Pein was the first to wake, slowly rousing from sleep as the sun came through the window.
Shifting slightly to get comfortable, his eyes fluttering from the light that made its way over his face, he finally fully roused himself and looked around, almost uncertain as to where he was or what had gone on. It was only then that Pein noticed where he was and what had happened began to occur to him, causing him to pull the blankets slightly to cover them both a little more, a slight smirk appear on his face as his memory came back to him of all he and Kyo had done last night. But as he twisted his body to lean on his side, the smirk slipped off as Pein's eyes now fell on Kyo, not bothering to say or do anything more, merely staring as she continued to sleep peacefully, her face smooth and unblemished, her lips full and inviting as he ran his eyes over her. Her chest moved slowly up and down, in sync with his, and somehow, after all they had been through over the past few days, after what she had been through and managed to achieve, this moment seemed ever more special. Ever more memorable.
As if calling something into existence with his thoughts, however, Kyo abruptly began to shuffle, murmuring quietly in her sleep until her eyes slowly opened—though her reaction was slightly less relaxed than Pein's. For a moment she tensed, surprised at his appearance beside her, only for her to realise the situation and just why he was in her bed and for her to relax once more, though she knew it was going to take her some getting used to before she would be completely comfortable with him like this. Wondering how long he'd been awake and looking at her like that, Kyo shook it off, reaching out to gently touch his chest—only to find he'd wrapped his arm around her waist a moment later and pulled her close, resting his forehead against hers as he murmured softly,
"Good morning."
Returning the favour, Kyo pressed her lips firmly to his, discovering Pein wouldn't let her go when she tried to pull back, giving in soon enough and wrapping her arms around his neck. Rolling until he was on top of her, Pein rubbed at her sides, worming his tongue inside her mouth as she moaned in response, doing the same as she buried one hand in his hair and dragged the other down his body, tracing patterns around the piercings on his chest before continuing on towards his hips. Pein's other hand now slid up Kyo's torso and massaged at her breast, his thumb circling round her nipple—but just as their tongues intertwined, his left hand clenching around her ass, Kyo pushed him upwards and away from her. Their mouths now apart and torso's no longer touching, she gasped, out of breath,
"Pein...we have to get up."
Sliding out from underneath him before he could do anything to stop her. Picking up her clothes from the floor where they had been scattered during the night, Kyo headed into the bathroom for a shower, and as much as Pein hated to admit it...he knew she was right. He was the leader of the Akatsuki, after all—a position he was beginning to detest, if it meant less downtime with Kyo. But sighing inwardly, he too pushed himself off the bed, tidying things up and collecting his clothes, though not bothering to get dressed until he'd had his own—cold—shower.
Once that was all complete, however, they both headed out of the room, Pein pausing and turning around to look Kyo up and down. Wondering what exactly he wanted, Kyo did nothing as he smirked slightly, raising an eyebrow and stated firmly,
"You're here permanently now, Kyo. The Akatsuki cloak's not just to blend in anymore—you're a real member."
Narrowing her eyes at that statement, it occurred to her that Pein had always said she would merely be here temporarily, and the cloak was just a cover. But now it truly meant something, and his smirk reflected on Kyo, she stepped forward to kiss him softly. Those words meant more to her than he knew. The kiss, however, stopped either of them from noticing the people walking towards them, and it was only when they pulled back that they realised they were there. Kyo stayed silent, not knowing what to say, as Pein turned to face Itachi and Kisame in the corridor. Itachi didn't need to say anything—he'd known it was coming, after all. Kisame, on the other hand, couldn't stop a smile from blossoming onto his face, staring down at the both of them with a glint in his eyes.
