Since curfew was at 9:30, James had to wait till his parents went to bed at 10:30. At 10:40, James started his escape from his house. First he tried his window, but it was tightly locked. Sighing in frustration, James went to his door and put his ear near it, and listened for anyone outside his door. When he was sure no one was out there, he opened the door and went down the stairs. Before he went out into the darkness, he glanced out the front window to check if the coast was clear. When he was satisfied that he saw no patrols, he went to the door, opened it, and left. However, as soon as he stepped foot out of the the threshold, he saw two specks of light drawing near. The patrol. He immediately dove into the bushes in front of the house, and he hoped they would not see him. They did not see him, they just drove on by. After that, James ran across the street into the park and hid inside the slide. Town square was just a block away, but there was nowhere to hide. James waited for the next patrol to pass then he booked it for the exact spot where he met the man. When he got there he could not see the man, James had no clue what he had expected. The next patrol was about to pass. James was so nervous he was sweating like he had just ran a mile, he was scared. Then they just passed like he was not even there. James was confused, then he turned to see the man standing there.
