Lauren's POV
It's been three weeks since our cover of "A Thousand Years" made it big. It was already now at half a million views and I pinched myself every time I looked at it. We had around 90,000 subscribers on Youtube and our cover of "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson was at about 200,000 views. Our latest one of "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adele beat that with 300,000. We didn't get a tweet from Kelly or Adele like we did with Christina but we did get a shoutout from One Direction on our new twitter account for the band. It has just a little over 60,000 followers after three weeks of creating it which we thought was amazing. We all freaked out about the 1D shoutout especially Camila who broke down in tears. They told us they liked our covers and to keep up the good work. It was insane and that really boosted our popularity.
We also got many more followers on our personal twitters. I went from about 300 followers to 15,000 in five weeks which was insane. It wasn't even just everyone from school but people who supported us from other places around the world. I didn't know who they were but they were fans and I enjoyed tweeting them back. The other girls were in the tens of thousands as well.
Not only were we getting popular online but also popular at school and in Miami. More people were talking to us and wanting to sit at our lunch table, in our classes, and in the courtyard. The whole school knew who we were which was crazy since there were almost 3,000 kids here at Palmetto. We were all practically best friends with the cool seniors too and got invites to more parties. I got way more female attention than ever before which I liked very much but not Keana. And everything was just bigger and better.
Local news and radio stations invited to interview us on their shows and the local restaurants Dinah used to sing at and others asked us to perform. We've never done live performances before so we had to rehearse a lot but didn't do too bad. Whenever I went around town in Miami now, at least a few people would notice who I was and asked for pictures. This was becoming like a job but a job we liked very much. We were like local pop stars.
"I think I might go to that party but I don't know," Normani shrugged. The girls and I were hanging in the courtyard during lunch. It was a nice day out and we decided to chill outside. Everyone was around us but still gave us some space.
"I mean Brittany was going to throw a party but now that we got invited to Drew Chadwick's rager, we're definitely going to that instead," I stated. "Brittany just cancelled it knowing she could get in with me."
"Do you really think his party will be cool though?" Normani asked.
"Of course. Drew Chadwick is literally the most popular guy in school and he insisted that we go," I took off my ray bands, giving her a pointed look.
We were talking about which after party to go to after homecoming since we got invited to a few. I was going to go to Brittany's at first, but was unsure when I got new offers. Brittany didn't even care either and just cancelled since I told her that I could get her and the other girls outside the band into one. Fifth Harmony got offered to go to Drew Chadwick's bash. He's the hottest and most popular guy in school with tons of money and never let's just anyone into his parties, but practically begged the girls and I to go. He even said the party would be lame without us which was actually a huge compliment.
"I'll probably go. I mean it is Drew Chadwick," Dinah smirked.
"Exactly. Camz, Ally Cat? We going?" I asked the rest of the five.
"Yes," Ally smiled.
"I don't know," Camila sighed.
"Camz, come on. I know you're not a partier but it's Drew Chadwick. His parties are insane and only the coolest kids get in," I encouraged her.
