Chapter 5

December 11, 20XX

"Babe, he's outside..." Cindy nervously told her bestfriends. "...waiting for me."

There was no need to name names. The way Cindy looked and how she behaved anxiously, it was obvious that the "he" she was referring to was no other than Ethan.

"Ethan? Why?" Krishia, who was having a bad day because Nate and she were having their first fight as a couple, asked Cindy.

Krish looked at Cindy sceptically, although she was feeling awful and all, she cared too much knowing Ethan's dire nature. Krish looked at Kim, well she thought Kim might have a good say to the situation. But rather, Kim stayed quiet and a stern face was painted on her face all along. But Cindy couldn't look at Kim, knowing that Kim would definitely hate the idea of Cindy going to him.

"He wanted to talk," Cindy answered faintly.

"Talk about what?" Krish asked once more.

Cindy looked at Kla and found out that she was too busy with her boyfriend. They were giggling and fooling around... tickling each other.

"I don't know maybe he'd say goodbye personally." The idea, no matter how Cindy defence, gave her a stab on her chest.

"Wow, I thought he had no decency left in him." Krishia bitterly blurted.

"I guess there's a lil' left, I have to go babe." Cindy, arranged her things, and placed everything in her shoulder bag. "I don't want to keep him waiting outside."

"Oh ghad, let her wait Cindy," Krishia rolled her eyes and smirked. "After everything, why not let him rot there? Forever maybe?"

"Let who rot?" Kla, who finally noticed that something big was going on, interrupted.

"Ethan, the Great Nobody." Krishia proudly answered with a smile. Cindy didn't mind Krishia's insults towards her ex-boyfriend. She knew that her friends were just angry because they know how much undeserving he is of Cindy. If only Cindy accepted that.

"He's outside waiting for me. He said he wanted to talk." Cindy saw a hint of objection on Kla's face but then it went blank as if telling her it was her choice.

So Cindy stood up and waved her goodbye to her friends after telling them that she'd be back for their next class.

Slowly, she walked down the ramp and the feeling of discomfort overwhelmed her. Cindy would see Ethan again after several months. She was fretting, not to mention that just last night Ethan said he only wanted Cindy as a friend and nothing more, she was broken-hearted too and she couldn't and wouldn't deny that.

At that moment, she had to remember that everything between the two of them was over. And that that moment was just to give closure to everything bad and wonderful. Cindy hated the thought. Cause if it would be her decision, she would like to keep him forever. But there was nothing she could do. There was nothing to change Ethan's mind. But that was solely something so hard to accept.

Walking outside the Stanvard Unicollege's gate, Cindy saw that very familiar car. The car that gave her too much to remember and in it was the man she ever loved.

The front windows were down and she could see Ethan gazing on her way already.

Cindy let herself in just like how she used to.

"Hi," Ethan greeted and smiled. He bent over and gave Cindy a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello," she smiled back.

"You look more beautiful from the last time I saw you."

"Thanks. Well, I can't say the same to you. You look like you've been lacking sleep." Cindy joked. Yes, Ethan looked like he haven't slept properly, but his eyes and smile appeared to be faultless to her. He was beautiful and nothing could change that not even his awful personality. Not to Cindy anyway.
