Sitting on the bus was awful. Everyone was silent. The only thing that could be heard was the occasion sob of someone who has just realized that we were riding towards death. The kids next to me were younger than the others on the bus. 16, that's how old they were, everyone else is 18. That's the way it is, your picked up and dropped off to death at 18. So why? Why were the two here. They were clearly younger. The two were twins. That was easy to tell, the twins were different. Their beautiful ruby red, they were different, everyone has hazel eyes or blue eyes like me. They had caramel hair unlike everyone who has black, brown hair or blond like me. But their looks couldn't be the thing that made them so different, I mean it's unusual but looks alone couldn't get them on this death ride right? And so young too? They were supposed to have 2 years left. So why?
I glance to the side to steal a look at the twins. Same position as before. Girls head on boys shoulder, holding hands, the boy stroking her hair and whispering sweet nothings in her ear. She was shaking. No tears or sound just silent sobs and violently shaking shoulders. No one made a sound. The bus is quite but if you listen hard enough you could hear the boys  words.
"it's ok..."
"their not real..."
"They can't touch you..."
"I'm right here..."
"I'll protect you..."
His hushed words were sweet. But still the girl continued to shake with her silent sobs and screams. I don't know what came over me, I did the unthinkable. I gently and slowly reached out and put my hand on her pale face. She was cold against my warm skin. She finches at my touch. But doesn't move away. She stays very still and the boy stares at me his red ruby eyes pierced through me they were unreadable, I couldn't find anything out about him from his eyes like I usually do, he keeps staring, but makes no move to stop me. I slowly pull her out of his grasp. She moves like a rag doll, no resistance from her or the boy. I guide her head to my lap and lay her down. She doesn't move, I gently stoke her soft caramel locks and she starts to shake again racking with her silent sobs. They stat slow after a few minutes, and her breath evens out, her body goes limp relaxing. I glance down at the small girl in my lap, she's asleep, and looks peaceful, innocent, almost like an angel. I look to the boy who whispers "thank you..." I give him a nod. "my names Ashton but you can call me Ash..." Ashton says in a hushed tone.
"I'm Angle." I replied matching his volume. I point down to the girl in my lap. He seems to get the message.
"That's my twin sister..." He trails off and looks around to see if anyone, particularly the 'guardians' as they call themselves are listening. "her name is Ella..." He finished just in time. Because one of the guardians had started to do role again. I wait patiently for my name to be called.
Angle Anderson
"Here." I replied, it's the same monotone answer every time.
He called more kids names, who all give the same response I did.

Ashton Jackson
"Here..." He squeaked.

Ella Jackson

The bus was silent. How could she responded she was asleep. I didn't know what to do, I look to Ashton for any hint of what I should do. His ruby eyes were wide with fear, as the guardian started walking down the isle. His boots were clicking as he walked. The guardian stopped at our row and glanced at the sleeping girl. Anger filled his eyes, he was 35, 498lbs and had a history of violence, no family all of them died in the shyly and Sisuge war. His name is Downier Rash and his rank is Private. I watched frozen as he grabbed his shou, which is a long metal rod that has electricity running through it and is used to beat people. His hand landed on the handle of the Shou and pulled it out of its leather pouch. He was going to hit Ashton. He didn't care that it wasn't Ash's fault, he was going to beat Ashton then Ella. Ashton looked up at the man, fear etched in his face. Ash didn't make any sign of moving as the electricity hissed around the Shou, the guardian lifted the Shou over his head ready to strike.
The guardian brought the Shou down.

     A scream filled the silence.
