Opening my eyes I see nothing but darkness. Its surrounding me. It's cold, and I feel empty. No light, no sound, nothing. Was I dreaming or was this real? We're my eyes even open? Suddenly I was back in my old life. Sitting on my favorite brown leather chair, snuggling up under a fuzzy tan blanket, reading my favorite book online, The Cherry Tree by an anonymous author that goes by the user name of blondebombshell_1217
Yup the main character is just like me. Different. And it's our differences that make us so similar. Other than that we have nothing in common, I have long blonde hair and pale blue eyes and a decent tan. She's practically the opposite, but we're both deemed suck by society, she is physically sick and I am unnatural. And we're both alone, isolated because of our differences. But at least she has people who care about her, unlike me I have no one and a expectation date.
I hear someone call my name, at first I think it's my mom. But like everyone else my parents avoid me as much as humanly possible, for like everyone else they fear catching the difference. Which by the way is impossible. The voice is so unfamiliar and sweet. It's sounds young and worried. Then their are two voices one male and one female that sound almost identical but the males is a little bit lower. I feel something or someone shaking my shoulders.
My eyes flutter open and immediately shut. Theirs a bright, blinding light. Then I remember. The bus. I cautiously open my eyes and peak at my surroundings. Two bodies are leaning over me. It's Ella and Ash. I groan as I sit up, muscles screaming in pain as I move. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, it hits me like a bomb.
The copper smell of blood drifting through the air, and the smell of rotting meat. My stomach hurts and I remember, the guardian. I feel like I need to puke, the smell of death overwhelming. I steal glances around the room and see the others seem to have the same reaction to the stench coming from the dead guardian on the floor of the bus. The only ones no effected by the smell were the twins. The guardians called role again this time skipping the twins. And one by one they pulled us off the bus. The twins and I were the last ones off. They didn't drag us out of our seats like the others but calmly waited for us to leave. I go last following Ella out of the bus I avoid the Crimson pools that have formed on the floor. Ella doesn't. She walks straight through them making no effort to move out of the way.
Her black shoes now had dark red stains on the bottoms and sides. She wore dark jeans and a light blue short sleeve shirt. Her twin Ashton practically wore the same outfit. He had the same shoes, which were also now stained in blood, same dark jeans, presumably the same shirt, but he wore a dark grey sweater with no pockets and holes for his thumbs. The doors hissed shut behind us. We were outside. The cool crisp air was much different from the dank stuffy air in the bus, but still I couldn't help but to feel that,Something was off
