My eyes slightly go out of focus. In the mitts of all the fuzziness I see Chelsea. I saw her, still here. Still safe in my arms. I have everything I previously thought I could never have.
As I was starring at her closed eyes, imagining what her glowing blue eyes would look like when she woke. Her eyes opened. I really like that I was the first think she saw. Chelsea's arms still around me, she pulls me close.
"Your so beautiful." I said. She just kind stared at me. I don't think she was quite awake yet. "Can we just stay in bed all day?"
"Your sleep voice is really sexy."
"Why thank you." I said.
Chelsea sat straight up in a matter of seconds. "What are we gonna get done today?"
"First step, get out of bed. Which I don't really want to do." I said as I sat up next to her and put my arm around her, pulling her closer to me.
"Next step. Go to my house and get me some clothes that actually fit me. Then we find something to do."
"Let got team." I said as I threw off my down comforter off of us.
"Race you down stair." She said as she was already out of my room.
"Your on." I said as I followed her.
I obviously can out run her. I let her win obviously. We met up in the kitchen where I saw my mom standing.
"Good morning Chelsea. Where are your pants young man?" She said as she took a sip of her coffe.
I just pointed to Chelsea's waist.
"Haha. Good morning." Chelsea said.
"What some breakfast? What are your guys plans for today. Oh Ethan your cousin aren't coming until next week. I had the dates wrong." My mom said.
"Breakfast sounds great. That sucks that their not coming until next week." I said.
" You have family coming? They sound amazing if they have the same blood as you two." Chelsea said.
"Aren't you just sweet as a Georgia peach." My mom said. "I'm gonna go get the mail then start on breakfast." She said the walked towards the front door.
"So?" I said.
"Do look at me like that." Chelsea said.
"How am I looking at you any different than I usually do."
"Your really looking at me. Observing every move I make. Your not looking just, your truly seeing."
My mom came in, interrupting my moment with Chelsea. "Bud you have a letter."
I never got letters. I only get letters from Thomas. I just put his letters in a pile in my room. Ever since I responded to the one letter after not getting a letter for nine years. He sends me one every week. I don't even open them. I want nothing to do with that monster. He is a monster. I hope he rots in prison forever.
"Who is it from?" Chelsea asked.
"No one." I hissed as I snatched the paper out of my mom's hand.
I walk up stairs with it. Once I was in my room I threw the letter away.
I flopped face first on to my bed. I was fighting the tears because Chelsea is here. I did not want a letter from my dad. I don't know to talk to my dad. I don't want to see my dad. He's not even my dad, he doesn't even deserve the title of father. He is just the other half of my DNA. He means nothing to me. How do you lay your hands on the ones you love the most? How do you physically and mentally scar your own flesh and blood? He's not even human. He's a monster. It just doesn't make sense. One thing I will never understand is I used to love him unconditionally, but he didn't love me one lick. He said he loved me, but I don't think beating your son is love. Neither is beating his mother. Neither is verbally abusing your five year old son.
