"Ready?"
"Ready as I will ever be." I said as I rolled my eyes.
"Don't roll yours eyes at me!" She said as she punched me.
"You got a lot of attitude for someone who's five two."
"Uh-hu, sure. Wanna fight me?" She said as she waved her fist like she was going to punch me.
"Well, I guess I'm just gonna have to do this." I picked her up and put her over my shoulder as if I was carrying a sack potatoes.
I started to walk down the stair, then she started to yell, " Put me down right now!" She started to punch my back and kick at my stomach.
I manger to make it down the stair with to much pain. I mean I get hit by bigger guys in football all the time. Once we were on the kitchen I put her down.
"You're so mean to me!" She said to me as she stomped her feet.
"No I not." I said trying to imitate her voice.
She punch my arm and proceeded to my truck.
I got in shortly after her. After I stared the car she said, "I'm not talking to you."
"You're talking to me right now." I said, then leaned in to kiss her. She pushed my face right out of the way.
As we were driving she still wasn't talking to me. Then I remembered I had one of her CDs in here. I play it. I skipped to her favorite song. "Boomerang" by The Summer Set.
As it played, she quietly hummed along to the song. The humming turned into mouthing the words. The mouthing turned in singing.
After the song ended she said, " I hate you."
"You love me and you know it."
"That's debatable."

We pulled into the parking lot. Wow, I haven't seen him in what seems like forever. Forever isn't long enough. How do you lay your hands on the ones you love the most? Hit them. Beat them. Whip them. Hurt them in ways no one should ever be hurt. I alway thought you were supposed to hurt the ones you love. Am I any better than him? I'm not. I say how could he hurt the ones he was supposed to love, when I chocked almost to death with the words I told her. I don't know how she forgave me or what if she didn't?
"Ethan!" She said shaking me. She put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Take a deep breath, everything's going to be ok. Still want to go in?"
"It's now or never." I said as I faked a smile.
"Let's go." She said as she took her hand off my shoulder.
We walk in. "What do you need?" The correctional officer.
"Are visiting still open?" I asked sheepishly.
"Yes, who are you here to see?"
"We are here to see Thomas Green." I said.
"How are you guys related to him?"
"I'm his son and this is his niece."
"Ok. Follow me."
As we followed her, I about threw up in my mouth. My knees felt weak and my hand held tight in a fist. I didn't need to see my face because I could feel that it was red hot. I felt Chelsea wrap her hand around my fist. She rubbed the top my hand with her thumb. I slowly unclench my fist. Her fingers aligned with mine. Slowly my fingers laced with hers.
I turned to look at her. She just smiled, but her smile spoke a thousand words. That one smile reassured that everything was going to be alright. It said your okay, nothing going to hurt you. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere.
"Guys just sit here and he will be right out."
