Harry, Ron, and Hermione were lounging in the common room on a Friday night trying to finish their homework for Transfiguration. The Marauder's were off pranking someone and Lily was doing prefect rounds. It was about midnight so the room emptied a few minutes ago and they could talk in peace.
Harry yawned and tried to remember how to transfigure a toothpick into a rabbit and write it into words that Professor Mcgonagall would approve of. Suddenly Hermione gasped and jumped up and covered her mouth with her hands.
"Whats wrong?!" Ron asked urgently. Hermione looked at them and looked as though she was going to cry.
"Whats wrong Mione?" Harry asked starting to get worried. She said in a whisper sort of voice "We never got our OWL's." Harry and Ron looked at echother and together burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" Hermione said while frowning. Harry and Ron were rolling around on the floor laughing with tears coming out of their eyes.
"Seriously Hermione?," Ron choked out, "Of all the things happening right now you think about OWL's?"
Hermione turned toward Harry and said half pleading "Harry, don't you wanna know what your scores were?" Harry gasped out "I really don't care at this point."
Lily just walked in and the sight that awaited her was odd.
Ron and Harry were still rolling around on the floor laughing and tears rolling down their faces from laughter. Hermione standing above them glaring down at them in a disaproving way and trying to make them stop laughing and yelling at them about "Having a future" or something like that.
Harry looked up and started to stop laughing enough to only let a chuckle release every now and then. "Hi, Lily."
Still puzzled Lily replied "Hi Harry, Ron, Hermione." Hermione stopped ranting to Ron about how he should care more about his school work to say "Hello Lily. Finished your rounds?"
"Yeah." Ron stood up and waved in greeting to her then helped Harry get up from the floor.
Then Sirius, James, Peter, and Remus strode through the door. Or at least Sirius, James, and Remus did. Peter just waddled through.
"Whatcha doing?" James said casually.
Harry and Ron said in unsion "Nothing" James quirked an eyebrow at their behavior but didn't say anything as he was too tired.
"So," Harry said, "where were you guys?"
"Nowhere." Sirius said innocently. Harry continued to stare at him until he caved in and said "Fine! You'll find out tommorrow morning at breakfast." He took this as a sufficent answer and heard Sirius mumble something like "As stubborn as Lily."
Harry froze, as did Hermione because she could also hear what Sirius was saying. 'They would have to be more careful.
The next night as all of them were walking down to the Great Hall for the "Defense" group they were talking about what it would be like. Hermione kept on saying that if Dumbledore was teaching then it would be amazing.
Harry agreed but didn't voice his opinion as he was too thinking about what would be happening in these meetings.Would it be like the DA?
They finally reached the doors of the Great Hall. They pushed open the doors and looked around.
