When Harry woke up the next morning, the dormitory was completly empty, except for Ron. He was running an agitated hand through his hair and when he saw Harry come to, he gave a sigh of relief and and smile overcame his face.
"Thank Merlin," He sighed. "I thought I would have to wake you up myself. C'mon, it's almost time for breakfast."
Harry sat up and looked around groggily. "What time is it?" He asked, trying to blink the sleep out of his eyes.
"Almost time for food." Ron said impatiently. "Hurry up and get dressed. I'm hungry."
Harry rolled his eyes when Ron looked away and he sighed once again before he slowly, almost agonizingly climbed out of his warm, comfy bed. He ran a tired hand through his already messy hair and he carelessly walked towards the loo.
"Harry!" Ron called, as he stuck his foot in the door before Harry could close it all the way. "Hurry up, I am really hungry..."
He smiled once more at his friend, though it was more of a grimace and he nodded quickly. Ron then left Harry alone to do his business and he walked back out the door that led to their dorm.
Harry left the bathroom a few minutes later, all refreshed and a little closer to getting ready to face the day. Quickly, he got dressed and they both left their dorm and scampered down the stairs.
"Where have you been?" Hermione snapped as they came into her view. "I've been waiting here for almost 15 minutes; I want breakfast too."
Harry offered her a grimace and replied, "Sorry 'Mione, I slept in a little..."
Her hard gaze softened and she shot him a rather sympathetic look as she responded, "It's okay, Harry. I understand."
Ron's eyes widened considerably and he exclaimed, "What? You said if I wasn't down soon, then you would-" She cut him off impatiently and said shortly, "Well, you didn't have as tramautic as a day yesterday as Harry did, did you?"
He looked down for a moment before mumbling, "Bloody women..."
"I heard that!" She snapped.
Harry could hear Ron mumbling under his breath about moodiness and Ron started to walk away slowly, heading towards the Great Hall. Harry turned to Hermione once again and had another grimace on his face. "Sorry about that, I wasn't really Ron's fault that I slept in, you know."
She rolled her eyes and said, "Ron just needs to get over that fact that he has to take responsibilty for his actions."
Harry grinned and replied sarcastically, "Spoken like a true prefect!"
Hermione gave a wistful sigh and raised her voice slightly so that Ron could hear what she was saying. "If only I was chosen. Too bad, maybe Ron would've been chosen too..."
Ron spun around and his eyes narrowed slightly. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing," She replied, her voice raising even more. "why do you always assume that every single thing that I say has to mean something super important. Can't I just say something that doesn't have much meaning every once and awhile?"
