Ever since Harry had told Ron and Hermione about the prophecy they had been treating him as though he was on his death bed already.
This annoyed Harry to no end.
He had expected them to be a little scared, as anyone would be once they heard that their best friend had to defeat one of the darkest wizards alive. Instead Hermione started crying and kept Harry in a hug that rivaled one of Mrs. Weasleys. Ron, just stayed where he was for about 5 minutes looking into space and being as pale as a ghost.
Then he grabbed Harry by the arm and pulled him to the Room of Requirement and yelled at Harry for not telling them sooner. Ron's face was the famous Weasley red and after about 5 minutes of yelling himself hoarse at Harry, he clapped his hand on Harry's back and said "Well, as long as you have Hermione and me to help you, you'll be fine."
True, Harry probably should have told them about the prophecy earlier but he didn't want to worry them. Also it brought up thoughts about Sirius' death, that he really didn't want to think about. But, still it was about him. It wasn't about them.
'Wow, I sound selfish' Harry thougth miserably. Ron had left the Room of Requirement about 5 minutes ago and since then Harry had been lost in his thoughts. When Ron and Harry had entered the room it had shown itself as the Gryffindor Common Room.
Now that Harry was in it by himself and his thoughts had strayed over to Sirius the room had changed into the Atrium in the Department of Mysteries. Flashes of the battle went through his head.
Hermione collapsing.
Neville screaming.
Ron almost being suffocated.
Sirius falling...
Suddenly his watch beeped. He looked at it and cursed.
The defense club starts in 2 minutes!
Harry sprinted from the room and ran the whole way to the Great Hall. He arrived gasping for air and hurried over to where Ron and Hermione were waiting and looking around anxiously.
"There you are." Hermione hissed as Harry reached them. She looked at him and pointed her wand at his face.
"Woah Hermione, sorry for being late but don't you think that's a bit drastic?" Harry said quickly while backing away and holding his hands up.
She rolled her eyes and said "I am just going to use a spell to get rid of the sweat on your face."
"Oh" Harry muttered. She muttered a spell under her breath and immediatley all the sweat Harry had felt on his face had disappeared. He said a thanks and then turned around to Ron and they started discussing quidditch while Hermione said "Boys" under her breath.
The expression on her face was so familiar that he and Ron grinned widely at echother.
Then the doors flew open and the teachers walked inside. Everyone froze and stopped what they were dong as the Professors looked over at them. Dumbledore raised his arms and said in a loud and happy voice "Lets get started!"
Everyone in Harrys group rushed over to where Dumbledore was standing, as he would be their teacher. Dumbledore stood for a few moments and looked over the smiling and eager faces before adding his own smile to the group.
"Now, today we will be learning a complicated spell called the Fenaritem Charm. This particular spell, when shot at your dueller, forms a wall around them and activates a gas that flows within and causes them to collapse under the force that the gas brings." He said while pacing in front of them.
They all listened closely and their full attention was on the only wizard Lord Voldemort ever feared. They listened as he said that many people don't usually use this spell because it causes its caster to lose a great amount of energy.
"Enough of that," Dumbledore said as he clapped his hands together,"Are you ready to learn how to administer this spell?"
They all nodded eagerly and drew their wands.
"The incantitem for this spell is Fenaritium. To complete this spell you must move your wand in a circular motion and jab your wand in the center of the circle, like this." And they all watched as Dumbldore moved his wand in a skillful motion and ten feet away from him a silver circular wall suddenly appeared out of no-where.
Harry was very excited to do the spell, as one everyone else because they all were practicing the wand movements that were needed.
Dumbledore reappeared in front of them again and said while pointing to a corner of the room that was unoccupied at the moment "Everyone aim their spells for that corner. On three. One, two, three."
Harry focused very carefully and said in a loud clear voice "Fenaritium"
No walls like Dumbledores showed up but there were some that looked not very solid and they were wisps of grey smoke.
Even though none of them actually created the walls they all staggered and felt a rush of drowsiness come over them.
Nevertheless Dumbledore smiled at them and said "Good job! Now because this spell takes so much energy we will only practice this spell two times per meeting, in the beginning and in the end so no one is too exausted."
For the rest of the meeting mostly everyone in Harrys group were yawning, Harry included. The kept on practicing shields and dodging curses coming their way.
They all wanted to go back to their common rooms and finish their dreaded homework, but they still had to wait for the first-years to finish completing a disarming spell.
Harry, actually hadn't learnt that spell till second year, and he was now feeling a little embaressed. He still felt thankful that he had learnt that spell though. It had saved his life in multiple occasions.
About ten minutes later they finished up and were allowed to go back to their common rooms. They all stumbled through the portrait hole and continued to work on their homework that they had not finished earlier.
When they headed upstairs Harry fell asleep instantly and the voice of his "mother" came up again.
'Go to the Founder's study' It said when Harry was yet again, covered in darkness.
'Why' He yelled back as he spun around as if hoping the voice would reveal itself. But, sadly it did not.
'It will all make sense in time. But for now, go and learn.' It said and then it was fading away much to Harrys displeasure.
Harry gasped and woke up in a cold sweat. He looked around for his glasses and put them on and he felt the world come into focus. Slowly, so he didn't wake his dorm mates, Harry climbed out of bed, grabbed the invisibility cloak and started creeping down the stairs.
He left the common room and made his way to the Founder's Study. As he opened the door to go inside, someone ran into him. He looked up.
It was Lily Evans, his mother.
