Cheryl stared out of her window curiously wondering if her day couldn't get any worst and just by luck as if she'd conjured him by thought right below her stood her annoyingly-handsome-so-called-next-door-neighbor. Couldn't she look and sit somewhere without Brandon Smith leering at her or even worse checking her out? She gave an exasperated sigh and ducked unto her bed just as he looked up.
Ok now she was seriously tripping because she knew that every girl with a drop of blood in their veins would fancy Brandon, I mean don't get me wrong I do have barrels of blood flowing through me but - I just hate him because- 'cause he is so besotted with himself, I mean the guy spends like one bloody hour gelling up his hair and an extra thirty minutes shaving his legs. Don't even ask me how I know that.
She looked around her and gave the mother of almighty sighs. Biscuits crumbs all over the expensive Persian carpet, dresses strewn all over her bed after an agonizing moment yesterday when she tried to tidy her wardrobe, ripped posters of buff boys she kept account of...
"Cheryl!" Mum yelled up the stairs shaking me from my revere. Jeez!!! Doesn't she know that that whole neighborhood could hear her??? I flushed with embarrassment a little at that when I thought about it especially with Brandon smith around; I was going have to seriously warn mum that she was going deaf.
"What now?" I hissed making sure the irrational note in my voice is heard clearly.
"OMG!!" she squealed choosing to ignore the sure signs I was going to explode any moment. "Guess what??"
"You have just won the national lottery?" I offered. Now that would be different from all the petty things my mum always squealed about.
"Don't be silly" she said not waiting for me to continue, your cousin Rosaline is coming to stay over for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!!"
"And??" I offered again.
"And aren't you excited!?" she said bouncing up on her heels giddy with excitement.
To be very frank with you I think I may be the only sane person in this house I mean jumping up and down just because Rosaline is coming to stay???. Please give me some credit!! I mean I like Rosaline and all that I mean she's ok but I not going to be tripping up on my shoe laces just to make her feel at home.
"Hooray" I said dully and was about to make my way upstairs when my mum called again, I gritted my teeth and turned around.
"Not so fast young lady, I need you to do some shopping for me, I mean it wouldn't look too good if she comes here from a long journey and is expected to go to the chippy to get some food is it?"
"Ok, fine, whatever."
"Here" she said briskly brandishing a list of things I had to buy. Thing is she hadn't exactly asked me if I wanted to go before she just assumed I would just do what she asked for. Shoot me now.
Cheryl had managed to do the shopping and was returning when she heard the unmistakable voice of Brandon; she didn't even need to check to know that he was as usual leering at her. How embarrassing, she thought with her mum around you would think the boy would have the decency to drop the act for once.
"What do you want?" she said grinding her teeth and checking her watch for emphasizes.
"Stop checking your watch Cherie because I know you have nowhere to go" he replied sneering at her.
Damn! Cheryl thought flushing as Brandon had guessed that she had nothing to do and she was going nowhere. "My cousin is coming over and I have to help my mum make her some food", she snarled. That wasn't necessarily the truth because first of all she couldn't cook and mum never seems to need help.
"And stop calling me Cherie because my name is CHERYL!!"
"Boy or girl? Hopefully girl" he half asked ignoring the fact that I told him not to call me Cherie.
"Urgh!! You are such a dirty pervert- get out of my flaming way NOW." Then she started fast walking she would have done anything to get away from that freaking bastard.
"Oh!! Don't worry Cherie even if she is a very beautiful girl I would never stop loving you." Then he blew her an air kiss which seemed to madden her- boy was he enjoying himself.
"I said don't call me Cherie-oh!! And are you sure you brushed your teeth properly this morning because I'm positive I smelt something bad when you blew me the air kiss." That seemed to wipe that dirty smile off his face and out of the corner of her eye she saw him briefly blow air into his palm and smell it. Although it was a very disgusting thing to do Cheryl had her moment of glory when it finally sank in that for the first time she had made Brandon feel very self-conscious. She almost bounced home on her heels like her mother {almost} she was still the most sane person in the house.
