The dairy of......

Introduction

One sunny morning in August, Lexi ran out of her mother's holiday chalet onto the palm tree covered beach. She was horrified at what she saw in the distance, she knew things will never be the same.

Earlier that day at the chalet

"Mum I know what I want to be when I grow up" said Lexi.

"What's that, darling"? Replied her mother.

"A detective just like dad!"

"What!! I thought that you wanted to be a vet just last week" smiled her mother.

"I promise mum this time I won't change it"

Later that day at the chalet

"Lexi hurry up and come outside, it's gorgeous weather" called Lexi's mother. "Coming mum just getting some ice cream", Lexi replied.

As Lexi pulled the ice cream out of the freezer, she heard a sound that would haunt her dreams of ever more, the sound of a gun going off. Dropping the ice cream, Lexi as if on autopilot headed over to the doors that led to the beach," Mum are you ok?" "What happened?" Lexi stage whispered. No reply came.

"Mum" Lexi called again in sheer desperation. Again no reply came. As Lexi inched out of the doors that led to the beach, Lexi knew in that moment that things will never be the same.
