I had gotten back in line, feeling EXTREMELY embarrassed. That was my chance to impress my group and I blew it. Really badly. From my diary, it would sound like it wasn't that bad. But trust me. It was. I fell flat on my face. 😑 And my form was TERRIBLE! At least no one laughed. I think. I wasn't really paying attention. Oh well.I went to the back of the line and the girl next to me saw my face. "Don't worry about it. I did that the first time I was here. Except it was on a round off back tuck. I fell on my back in the back tuck. It was so embarrassing! But I got over it very quickly because I realized that it didn't really matter. I knew that I could do it and that's all that matters." She told me. "Wow," I said. "I guess you're right." "Lia, right?" "Yeah. What's your name?" I asked her. "Meg. Or Megan but almost everybody calls be Meg." She replied. "I like that name!" I said. "Thanks! I like yours too!" It was the first time I had smiled in what felt like forever to me.
"So how long have you been on the team?" I asked Meg. "For a year!" She replied. "I didn't think I would make it last year, but I did!" "Cool!" I said. There was a bit of a pause. "So... enough about me. What grade are you in?" She asked. "6th but I'm going to 7th soon cause, well that's pretty obvious..." I said. "Ugh, nice one Lia." I thought. " I'm in 6th too! Going to 7th..." Meg said. We laughed and I felt like I had made a new friend.
