CHAPTER THREE
It was my first day of senior year, and my first day at Sweetgrass High School.
I woke up an hour early because I wanted to make myself presentable. I mean, what if this school has some really hot guys? Alex is really hot.
No, what's wrong with you?
He's the biggest douche in the world. T
hat doesn't mean I can't think he's hot...
FML.
I took a shower and shaved. I put on lotion and my cutest clothes.
I wasn't really one for dresses, so I went for black skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a sleeveless jean jacket that reached to my belly button. I also wore my maroon Vans with black laces. They were my favorite brand of shoes.
I left my face makeup-free. I wasn't a huge fan of makeup. I put a black beanie on and went downstairs.
That morning I didn't eat breakfast, because I was so nervous.
What if they don't like me?
I got a glass of water and went back upstairs to get my backpack ready. I was dreading riding the ugly, gross school bus.
I didn't have a car yet and my mom had already left for work. I had my license and couldn't wait to get a car.
I went outside, ignoring the goosebumps forming on my arms. I walked to my mailbox and began to wait.
Just then, Alex walked out of his house and got on a motorcycle.
I thought he had a car... He was wearing dark blue fitted jeans, a medium blue t-shirt, and a leather jacket. His hair was messy like he had just woken up and he had on black and white Vans.
I was staring at him and continued to stare even when he looked at me. He nodded his head at me and that's when I looked away, a little embarrassed.
The motorcycle roared to life, scaring me. I jumped and looked to see him riding towards me.
What's going on?
"What's up?" he asked. "Waiting for the bus," I said, a sad look on my face.
"No you're not. Hop on," he said. I was shocked... and a little nervous. I had never ridden on a motorcycle before, and Alex was suddenly acting decent towards me. What if he's up to something? "Come on, what are you waiting for?" he said, annoyance lacing his tone.
I really didn't want to ride the bus. I ignored the nagging voice in my head and quickly walked towards him to get on. He handed me his only helmet.
"Don't you need this?" I asked with concern. He shook his head.
"Never wear it anyways. You need it more than I do. Just put it on," he said.
I complied and got on behind him. I put my hands on his shoulders, but he grabbed my arms and wrapped them around his waist.
I could feel his rock-hard abs and it sent shivers up my spine. I felt electric shocks going through me.
"It's safer. And I'm not going to bite, you can hold on tighter. The last thing we need is you flying off," he said. "What's that supposed to mean," I asked, a little snarky.
