"Mommy" was the first thing I heard as I walked into my baby sitters house. The next thing was my daughter jumping straight into my arms, making the beads on the end of her braids clink against one another.
"Hey baby, mommy missed you, did you have fun at Sarah's?" I asked carrying her further into the house in the search for Sarah. She nodded excitedly.
"Yes! We painted, and played outside, and watched a movie!" Cass rambled on about her day in one quick sentence. As I walked into Sarah's kitchen there stood Britney. Anger flashed through my body for a quick second.
"Shawn sent me to come grab her; but your baby sitter wouldn't let me take her." Britney started, I rolled my eyes. Does this bitch not know her place yet?
"Sarah isn't suppose to let anyone else pick her up except for me or Shawn. He knows that. So no your not picking her up, and tell Shawn he needs to pick her up or we will revisit our custody agreement." I said impatiently and yet with a voice filled to the brim of exhaustion. She rolled her eyes and just left.
"Thanks Sarah. I appreciate you being so wonderful about his craziness." I spoke softly walking with Cass in my warms to round up her book bag and blanket.
"No problem Victoria. Next time do you want me to call the police?" She questioned as we both walked towards the door. I shook my head .
"No, but do keep a log of how many times he sends Brittany or if he picks her up. We're going to court to revisit our custody agreement." I stated before walking with Cass out to my car. Once she was strapped I my phone went off stating I had received a text message from Matt.
Have to cancel tonight Mia is sick.
I sighed Matt was the guy I was currently seeing. He has a daughter the same age as Cass so I understood sometimes he wasn't able to keep plans. But boy did it suck when he had to cancel.
It's okay.
I sent back. Now to drop Cass off with her dad. I sighed just what I wanted to do but he had the next day off from work and that was our agreement. 15 minutes later we arrived at Shawn's apartment. I got Cass out of her car seat and took her up to the door, and let her knock. Seconds later he opened the door.
"Hey princess." He said kissing the top of Cass's head as she walked past him into the apartment.
"Let me know if you need me to grab her early. Early as in after 3 tomorrow." I said turning on my heel and walking back to my car. Usually I would head straight to Matt's but since Mia was sick I wasn't really sure what to do. So I drove home.During this time home was with my grandmother at a cute two bedroom house on not the greatest part of town. But since I basically up and left Shawn after just recently changing jobs and getting a new car I figured it would be easier to stay with family.
"Hey Nana." I said walking into the house, she was sitting in her recliner in the living room watching HSN.
"Hey sweetie, headed to Matt's for the night?" She asked, Fridays were normally like that. Where I would go stay at Matts and then pick Cass up from her dads the following day. I shook my head no.
"Mia's sick. I think I'm just going to go run at the park. I'll be home in a few hours." I said dropping my purse down on the side table and headed into Cass and I's room. I changed out of my jeans and long sleeve shirt into a pair of running shorts and a tank top. I put on my puma running shoes, and grabbed my phone and headphones and headed back out. There were a few parks around where I was staying but I had fallen in love with a park on the north/east side of town. It was secluded and it always seemed like few people knew about this park. It had the best paths, a mix of concrete and dirt. It sounds weird I know but you'd be surprised at the calming feeling of hearing your feet hit a worn out dirt path. Luckily the traffic that way really wasn't bad and I arrived under 10 minutes. I stretched quickly and put my playlist on and begun my normal route.
Torn in two she lies awake
The moon lights up her room like day
Another night she spends alone
Without his touch, her skin so cold
'Go figure' I thought, my Iphone seemed to already know what kind of mood I was in. I had found out about Mayday Parade back in the early days of high school back when I lived in Virginia and had been hanging out with a kid named Trevor. I began to run on the pavement back towards the deepest part of the park where all the paths were dirt. My mind had seemed to decide that I was going to be running at least a few miles. The paths at the back of the park were the longest.
Even though the world she loves,
It won't ever be the way it was,
And his heart of stone left hers breaking.
And I blanked. No thoughts, no emotions, nothing. My body was focused on running, and for that I was grateful. I couldn't take the stress anymore. Although I had music blasting through my ears it became background noise quickly. My ears where focused on my feet, with each stride, my heart would beat, and I relaxed into that sound.
Every night she cries
And dies a little more each time
Say you love me
You love me.
Next thing I knew I was face first on the ground. I must have tripped over a rock, not paying attention since I didn't realize I was crying till this happened. I must have gotten caught up in the silence. That's when I realized there in front of me was Q.~sorry for the long time to update. Being a mother is hard. Plus this story just seems to keep on making new things occur. More
updates coming a lot sooner. Oh and the song that helped me with this chapter is attached!~
