One and only.「Chapter Seventeen」

"(NAME),if you want...Since we have a day off...would you...like to...er...go on a date with me?!"His face was so cute as it soon became red.It was obvious he was embarrassed as is ears were the first to become red.I laughed softly at the sight and agreed to this date.

"Of course,as friends right?"I gave him a bright smile but he seemed to be acting a little weird after I said that.

"Yeah.."He forced a smile onto his face."As friends."

I ignored the fact that he was acting a little strange and we eventually settled on going to an amusement park.Yup,this is what my life has come to....Going to an amusement park that would mostly be filled with young children.How fun.

We rode a few rides here and there but it wasn't much,it was just like going with another person like normal.Nothing special.After all,we came as friends.Nothing more.Nothing special.

We took a break and got something to eat when I saw a young girl all alone.She looked like she was lost,she had dark black hair and grey-blue eyes.Her hair was plaited into two plaits tied with white ribbons on the ends.She wore a plain white shirt with a short plaited black skirt,there was also a bow tied around her neck under the collar of her shirt.She looked like a cute and innocent young girl,I could see tears brimming at the corners of her eyes as she called out for her mother.

"Excuse me,little girl?Where did your mother go?"I crouched down so that I was at her height and she suddenly burst out in tears,

"I-I-I I didn't want to be with mummy!If I don't run she will get me!She scares me,she doesn't even act like my mummy anymore!Shes completely different!Please,miss help me!I don't want her to catch me!"

"What do you mean by that...?"

"Please help-!"

"Ah,there you are!Jeez,don't go running away like that Yuka!We are going home,now."

"Oh no..."The small girl hid behind my legs as I stood up.

"Are you her mother?"

"Of course I am,what are you a moron?Get away from my daughter."

"I'm sorry but I don't think I will.It doesn't look like your own daughter wants to go with you."The frail girl was quivering in fear behind me.I put a hand in her head and caressed it gently.I gave her a reassuring smile and I could see she was as afraid anymore.

"I said get away from her!"Her face was filled with rage as she came closer to the girl trying to drag her away.As she dragged her,the hem of her shirt had lifted slightly up and I could see bruises on her pale skin.My eyes widened and I quickly pulled her away putting my arms I front of her.

'What kind of mother are you!?"Everyone around us was staring but I didn't care.The small girl started to cry again and the mother looked around to see everyone looking at her.They were whispering amongst themselves.

'What a terrible person.' 'Oh my goodness,what a horrible human being.' 'She's a monster!Beating her own children!' 'How horrible.' 'I pity her.'

"You....little!!!"She was about to punch me but someone caught her fist with one hand.

"Please stop.I don't like fighting.Please don't fight."

"Why you...!I could kill you if I wanted you know?!"

"Are you sure you want to be saying that?"

"You...!!"

"Someone call the police!"

"This women is crazy!"

Many people started to rage against the mother as she got cornered by people she attempted to run away but ended up getting caught by the police themselves.The child was going to be sent to an orphanage so I had no choice but to give her a place to stay.I wanted her to stay with me.There was no way this child could be suddenly taken away into the hands of other people after her mother is gone.Ive gotten myself into such a mess but,at least I know.I'm doing this because it's right.
