Chapter 17

I felt August tap me and I just looked over. 

"Kelia you see that car behind us?"
I looked out the rear view mirror. "Yea I see it."
"They been following us for a minute."
"How do you know they following us August?"
"I just do, listen to me please?"

I nodded my head.

"I think its some nigga name Red's people." He exhaled.
"Why do you have people after you? August what the fuck is going on?" I wanted to scream,but I didn't have it in me.
"Well in New Orleans, My brother started to sell coke we was in competition with Red. He hated him for the simply fact he was taking his business. So in the Drug world if someone starts to steal your money, basically 'take what's yours' you want to off that nigga. He did that,that what I believe. So I took my brother's spot and took a lot of his business and he been out for me since. I thought he wouldn't find me here. Someone had to tell him."

We turned and we are now on a empty street. I have a eerie feeling now.  The car pulls to the side of us.
August rolls up all the windows.

"Kelia open the glove compartment for me."
I opened it. "Now what?"
"Get in the back seat and lay down."
I just looked at him. I'm kinda of scared.
"Kelia do it now!"

I hurried and climbed in the back and laid down on my stomach.

"Kelia whatever happens don't get up til I say get up."
I nodded my head.
"Also Kelia I don't really say this,but I like you, like I really really like you. If anything happens I just wanted you to know that."

I just kept quiet. I didn't know how to feel in this moment. I heard August sigh. Then he went in the glove compartment and pulled out a gun. He put it on his lap and rolled down the two front windows. I peeped my head up and the driver rolls down his window and I feel like we made eye contact. The dude goes behind us. August kept peeping out his mirrors. Next I know I feel glass on my back. I screamed. The bullet went through the front windshield. August turned real quick and went out the window and shot back. I looked up and the car pulled up beside us. August starts to speed up. I hear more gun shots. I then felt the car fall in a way.

"Fuck they shot my back tires!"
"What are we gonna do August?" I cried.
"We gonna have to get out."
"August that's dangerous, I don-"
"Kelia either its that it get killed in this car, and I ain't going out like that."

I just got up and wiped my tears.
Then I got all the glass off of me. I looked out the window and the people were beside us now. We were in front of this abandon apartment's parking garage

"Kelia when I stop this car get out run."
