Chapter 2: The Night

No P.O.V.

   The flight was quiet and long. Skylar's home (or her Sensei's home) was in another city because she was doing a worldwide tour. Luckily, the last city was near her home town and tomorrow was the last day of the tour. Finally, after the long silence, Shinx spoke.

   "So, I hear you're coming home tomorrow." He said.

   Skylar just nodded.

   "You know, sometimes I think you're bipolar. It's like you're a whole new person."

   "Well, you know that when night falls I have to take this whole thing completely serious. I can't be perky and happy all the time." Skylar said.

   "It's no wonder, people don't know who you really are."

   "Shinx, this is who I really am. Skylar Emerson, the singer is just my human form... Well during the day time."

   "But you can't keep going on like this."

   "What do you mean?"

   "C'mon Sky! Sure, you live an awesome double life, but you never get enough sleep! You're lucky that you don't have to go around the world doing this type of thing, let alone during the day time."

   "Well, that's why there are other angels out there... And then there's you and Violet."

   Skylar wasn't the only angel in existence. There were other angels around the world guarding their home towns and loved ones. During the day time, she couldn't do her duty and had to rely on Violet and Shinx to take care of the city, or risk blowing her cover.

   "But you're-"

   "Don't say it!"

   "You're a half-angel." Shinx stated.

   Skylar groaned, she knew that she was a half-angel but hated talking about it.

   "Can we please change the subject?" Skylar begged.

   "No! Look, my point is, you're different."

   Skylar rolled her eyes, "Not this again."

   "Sky! You're only a half-angel and you're working your butt off! It's time you choose only one life!" Shinx said.

   "You know I can't do that..." She sighed, "Look, even though I'm half-angel, that doesn't mean I'm completely helpless or handicapped! I make up for it with my ninja skills."

   Shinx looked down at the familiar city below them, then looked straight ahead to see a forest on a mountain. Squinting her eyes, Skylar could just make out the silhouette of a building.

   "We're here." Shinx said as they got closer,

   "The Dojo... Home." Skylar said with a smile.

   As they landed Shinx said, "Eventually you're going to have to choose."

   "I know..."

   "Just know that whatever decision you make, Violet and I will stick with you till the end."

   Skylar gave a small smile, "That's only because of the bond."

   The bond was their friendship. Unlike a regular one, Violet, Shinx and Skylar were all connected.

   "No, because we're best friends."

   They smiled at each other and entered the dojo. Although it was supposed to be a place to train, the room were more house-like, only the main room was the training ground. But as they walked in, they noticed that Sensei and Violet were sitting on their knees, eyes closed while drinking what looked to be tea.
