Marcel's POV
I ran the last remaining gel in my hair and slicked it back. I never liked my crazy hair, actually I have never worn it that way before. I wiped my hands on a cloth towel and adjusted my glasses by using my index finger to push them up.
"Marcel, are you almost ready?" My mom called to me from the living room.
"Yes, one minute," I replied and adjusted my vest in place and stepped out of the bathroom. I met my mother in the kitchen with a plate of food in her hands.
"I made your favorite," she exclaimed and gestured to the chocolate chip pancakes. I licked my lips and took it from her.
"Thank you mom," I said sweetly and she responded with a kiss on my cheek.
"So are you ready for your first day?" She asked and I shrugged.
"I'm a bit nervous," I confessed and took a bite of my pancakes with my stomach turning into knots.
We had just moved here to New Jersey from Boston. It's my senior year and I want it to be the best, but I just don't think it will. I wasn't very popular in my old school, and I'm not expecting a big welcome. My mom got a promotion to work at a more paying job here. I couldn't let her dreams go to waste so I decided to move for her.
"You will be fine, I know you will," my mom said and patted my shoulder.
I nodded and finished up my breakfast just before seven forty-five. "Well, I will be back at five and good luck on your first day!"
"You too mom, love you," I said and she kissed my forehead.
"Love you too, bye," she said waving to me leaving me alone in the new house.
I really don't want to go to school today, I just don't want to feel like a loner again. I was finally making friends back in Jersey before my mom got the promotion. Oh well, we can't have it all.
I picked up my backpack off the floor and went outside to my car. My car was nice, it wasn't the most extravagant but it worked. It had a black shiny paint job with small white stripes down the middle. The car looked as if it wouldn't go well with me, but I do have another side than being a nerd. Being a nerd is just what I'm good at, I tried sports and all but they aren't my thing.
I started up my car and quickly got to the campus as quickly as I could. I had to go to the office to pick up my schedule and such, I got here early so I wouldn't even be close to being late to class.
I pulled up to the school and everyone looked at my car and awaited for who would get out. Not to my surprise, they all looked disappointed at my appearance. But it's okay, I was used to it.
They all whispered God knows what to each other and I tried my best to ignore them as I made my way to the office.
"Hello, I'm Marcel Styles," I said to the lady behind the desk. She was quite plump and had thick glasses like mine, but only red.
She shuffled through tons of papers until she found mine and handed it to me. "Here's your schedule, and your locker is 456."
I thanked her and went to my locker and learned the combination quickly. After I was almost done a large arm shut the metal door of my locker closed.
"What the-" I said but shut my mouth to see a huge guy with a grin on his face.
He was a few inches taller than me but he had massive muscles under his thin shirt. He had brown hair and dark eyes, he was really scary to look at.
"And who are you?" He asked in a mocking tone.
"I'm Marcel," I said and tried to reopen my locker but he shut it again.
"What is your problem?" I asked harshly. Too harshly for me and obviously for him.
"I wouldn't treat me like that, I could ruin you with a snap of my fingers," he said and snapped and walked away from me.
Fantastic, I have already made an enemy. Way to go Marcel.
