This was the day that led to the downfall of everything. It started off like any other when i was greeted by my best friends; Jamie, Amanda, Josh, Max, Haleigh, Megan, Opal and of course Emily. There was no way that i could of expected what was coming next, none of us did. But this was the event that caused a chain reaction of events that would eventually lead up to my horrible death.
“Hey, did you get my texts?”Jamie greeted me with one of his famous smiles.
Jamie had been my boyfriend for 5 months. He appeared to everyone as the typical boy next door. I knew that Jamie had a bad side lurking under his perfect exterior and it was just a matter of time until it was revealed. My phone had been buzzing for the last few days from his texts. I felt like Jamie always was slowly molding me into the perfect girlfriend, and up unitl now i simpily had'nt cared becuase i was blindly in love with him.
“Can I talk to you for a minute” I asked.
The next words that I was going to say were probably some of the hardest words I had ever said. My friends all gave me suspicious looks, like they knew what was about to come. I had been resisting Jamie’s ridiculous requests these past few weeks. You see no matter what i do there is always something that Jamie thinks could be better. I had confided in Emily that i was thinking about breaking up with him. She of course tried to persuade me to stay with him, but i dont think she understood.
“Can’t we talk later? I need to be somewhere” He replied. Instead of looking at me he was staring down at the glass screen that belonged to the latest i phone and typing madly. Now, this made me angry. He could be so self absorbed and sometimes i thought that he cared more about his social satus than me. Which was probably true, you see Jamie was the cliche high school jock. He was one of the most popular guys in school and he was the guy that everyone wanted to be and every girl wanted to date.
“No Jamie. I need to talk to you. Now.” He seen the serious look on my face and straightened up. His face a look of utter confusion.
He followed me to a tree a couple of metres from where all my friends were sitting. They were all watching with wide eyes.
"Look Jamie.. I" I started. Jamie then grabbed my hand and cut me off mid speach.
" Wait, me first. I have a surprise for you " Jamie said. His royal blue eyes sparkling.
" What? Look Jamie i need to tell you something" I was beginning to get frustrated with him.
" Well we are going to be going to the same university next year after we graduate, and well the rooms there are really expensive.. so i bought us an apartment!" Jamie exclaimed.
I could not believe him! He hadn't asked me if i wanted this and what would my parents say? Jamie looked at me hopefully, but this was what he wanted, not me. Thats the thing with Jamie, he always thought that what he thought was right and everybody else was wrong.
"How could you?" i exclaimed. It was'nt his job to plan out my life! Maybe i didnt want to live in some dirty appartment. We have never once talked about living together, and now he sprung this on me!
" I thought that you would be happy!" Jamie shouted at me.
" Happy? Jamie i have put up with your ridiculous demands for months, but not now. Im sick of it!" I screamed at him. Anger boiled within me.
" So what, you want to break up? " Jamies voice grew louder toward the end of the scentence. His eyes locked to mine, i don't think i had ever seen him so angry as he was now.
" Yes" I said, my voice a harsh whisper. I looked down and tried to resist looking up into Jamies eyes.
" Well I'm not going to let you just walk away" Jamie shouted, his eyes going wild with rage. Jamie was also a planner. He did things according to him and he always got what he wanted. For once that wasnt the case.
" Watch me" I turned and took a few steps. That needed to happen, it was better if we weren't together. I had been building myself up for this the last few days and i wasnt going to let him break me.
All of a sudden i felt a harsh jerk on my arm. I swivled back around to meet a furious Jamie. He had a firm grip on my arm and looked straight at me, his face inches from mine.
"Jamie, you are hurting me!" I exclaimed. I struggled under his grip but it was usless, how was a girl like me meant to overthrow someone who lifts weights for an hour three times a week?
"You are a little bitch you know that? You are getting out of control and someone needs to put you in your place!" He spat, his words dripping with venom.
" You are a monster Jamie, i don't even know why i ever went out with you in the first place" i screamed at him.
His free hand dropped his bag and his hand came flying at my face. Tears instantly flew down my face, my hand came up to my face as if to protect the red and swollen mark on my cheek. How could he do this? I stumbled back a few steps. This wasnt the person i had fallen in love with, i was looking at a monster.
I turned my head to see a furious Max making his way straight to Jamie.
" You bastard!' Max roared, i had never seen him this angry, he was always a calm person and had been there for me when no body else was. Maxs fist made contact with Jamies face. A sickening crack echoed across the field.
" Jamie" I roared. I know that i shouldnt be worried about him, Jamie didnt care if i get hurt, but it was a natural reaction for me.
Maxs gaze landed on me as if only realising i was there, i looked at Jamie wiping blood from his face with his sleave.
"My god Allie! Are you ok?" Max asked. He tenderly put a hand to my swollen cheek.
" I- Im fine" I stuttered. Part of me was still in shock. I started crying again, i could'nt help it.
"Allie, look at me" Maxs gaze hardened.
I looked up at Max, my eyes locked on his Emrald eyes.
" I am never going to let him hurt you ever again, do you understand?"
I weakly shaked my head yes, i did believe him because at the fragile state i was in right now, i had to.
