Chapter 20: Invalid Reasons

"Let's break up, let's just be normal friends and teammates" kageyama's faked a smile making Hinata went speechless and blank minded.

"He..h?" Hinata's eyes were widely opened whereas tears unconsciously streaming down his face.

"Like i said.." Kageyama said with reluctances as he looked to the ground with guilts possessing his heart.

"Then..what was all of our time together about?" Hinata said, his mind was still blank, he was too speechless to uttered another vow.

"I dont think it'd work out!" Kageyama faked his bravery as if he has no heart at all. He'd just shrugged it off, dumping Hinata like those precious times together were meaningless. "M-maybe... We didnt even like each other in a way that you call 'romance' maybe we were just misunderstood about our feelings and thought it was Love as in romance... Maybe we're good with being friends" Kageyama said as his expression turned more obvious.

"What..? 'We'? Maybe it's just you Kageyama, maybe you didnt even love me in the first me whereas the stupid me always thought that our affections were mutual because everything you did was so surreal!" Hinata started crying in front of Kageyama.

If Kageyama followed his heart he would hug Hinata that was crying constantly in front of him and tell him that he didn't want to do it but the reality forced Him to do so. But apparently it's not going to work if he told Hinata the truth.

Seeing Hinata cried made Kageyama bit his lips and tongue pretending like he doesn't even care about what Hinata even think. He wanna tell Hinata that he didn't misunderstood his feelings and he did Love Hinata very much, possibly more than his life but for Hinata's sake, he will give everything up.

Without saying another word Kageyama took a step past Hinata and walked away casually.

"Kageyama! KAGEYAMA!!" Hinata shouted in a loud crying voice. After seconds, His knees felt weak thus, he felt down and collapse on the ground

Kageyama's cried so hard when he turned his back away from Hinata but as soon as he heard a falling noise he swiftly look back and saw Hinata's body unconsciously laid on the ground, he ran, no, RUSH to Hinata and carried him. Kageyama was in shock the whole time. He picked up Hinata on his arm and ran urgently to His house.

"Hinata! Hinata! Hang it there!" Kageyama said he he panted heavily running to his house with Hinata's on his arm still remain unconscious. Hinata's face was so pale yet red and liveless and his body was as hot as burning flame.

He rang his house bell with his hands repeatedly and constantly making Mrs. Kageyama got a bit startled and frightened. She opened the door and saw Hinata on Kageyama's arm gave her quite a shock.

"Hinata-kun! What happened?" She gasped

"No time to explain mom, he's fainted I need to get him in my room please call Hinata's mom for me, telling that he's with me and still unconscious! Tell her not to worry, he's with me" Kageyama said without taking any breath and hurry up to his room.

"Ok! I'll go buy medicine and cooling pads!" His mom said as he grabbed her purse out,

"Yeah Thanks!" He replied quickly

He kicked the door open with his leg and laid Hinata gently on the bed, tuck him inside the blanket and grabbed a small towel and a bucket of water, damped the towel, placing it on Hinata's forehead and wash Hinata's body gently with the towel.

Kageyama Insert a thermometer between Hinata's lips. His face was quite pale but also a little bit red at the same time, it was 41 degrees Celsius. he kept breathing heavily but still not awake. This worried Kageyama to the core. Is this partly his fault? He kept blaming himself.

By knowing the fact that after he broke up with Hinata, he wont be able to be as close, kiss or hug Hinata anymore and now, while Hinata was still sleep, Kageyama took advantage of the time he had left together and kissed the unconscious Hinata gently on the lips , this could be their last kiss.. If they were really meant to be God would give them blessings and make both of them fight for one another till the end of the battle.

"TOBIO! Here's the medicine, take care of Hinata okay? I'll make some porridge" Mrs kageyama exclaimed as he forcefully opened the door.

Kageyama picked up the medicine and a glass of water headed to the bed. He kneeled down as he lift hinata's upper body in a 90 degree angle then slowly put the medicine in Hinata's mouth along with a glass of water. Before he laid Hinata back on the bed, he slightly and hesitantly hugged Hinata and cried a little thinking how he didnt want this moment to end..not now or tomorrow then let go of Hinata's body and tucked him securely inside a thick warm blanket filled with Kageyama's scents.

He went to his closet and grabbed a futon, laying it next to his bed spending the whole night looking after Hinata. He changed the towel and the cooling pads and washed Hinata's body.

"Where..am..i? I dont feel well.." Hinata's murmured with his eyes barely open waking up slowly from the bed. He looked around himself and the room did look familiar but it doesnt took him long to realized that he's currently resting in Kageyama's room. The memories from yesterday started to restore and flashing back to his mind making his tears wanted to fall off his eyes.

Minutes after he woke up Kageyama came in with a tray of breakfast. Hinata suddenly converted his gaze toward Hinata and quickly wiped off his tears before Kageyama saw it.

"Hey..kageyama-kun.. Can we... not..break up?" Hinata said with a soft sad voice. Kageyama suddenly stopped and stand still holding the food tray and sighed.

"You're still sick, eat something first" Kageyama replied nonchalantly. How he wished he could say something like "i love you" or "good morning" with a smile to Hinata at the time like this but he tried to cope all of his emotions and act cold..for Hinata's pride and dignity.

"But-" Hinata paused and gave up.

"I'll leave the breakfast here, eat when you feel like it" Kageyama then walked out of the room.

"What makes Kageyama turned this cold toward me? I dont get it.. I've never done something wrong to the extent of being hated by him like this.." Hinata thought and quickly buried himself in the big blanket.

"This blanket smells like Kageyama-kun.. God, I miss being near and close to him" he cried silently and suffocatingly in the blanket. His heart shattered into many separate pieces that can't be glued back seamlessly. "I need you, Kageyama-kun! please be here" Hinata this time cried and said in a loud voice by himself.

Kageyama, was always standing right outside the room pressing his own body on the other side of the door these whole time, crying and crying as he tried to restrain himself but failed to do. Hearing Hinata cried aloud saying that he need Kageyama so much made he couldnt stand seeing Hinata suffered thus, he slammed the door opened and rush to grabbed Hinata in his arm. He hugged Hinata tightly with his warmth

"Hinata! I'm here! I'm sorry I left you.." Kageyama tears streamed down like a never ending waterfall, he pressed Hinata's head against his own shoulder as they both cried hysterically.
