Thea's POV

I was sitting in the cafeteria with Jake and suddenly Roy comes and sits beside me. I was shocked like literally shocked because we both were not on talking terms.

"Umm can I talk to you for a second" he turns around and asks me.
"What? talk to me?"
"Yeah who else?"
"Ohkay say"
"Not here, let's go to the parking lot"
I nod and he walks out of the cafeteria, me following him.

Roy's POV

I don't know why but I'm getting nervous. I haven't talked to her for a week now.

We both keep staring at anything but each not staring a conversation. But then Thea begins with it.

"How are you" she asks me.
"what do you mean? I'm alright"
"No, I mean after the hospital thing"

Anger and hurt burst through my mind. She didn't even visit me at the time when I was there and now suddenly she suddenly cares about me.

"How do you even care? You didn't even come to the hospital when I needed someone... the doctor even called you".

This question's answer was on her 'the hated' list. She kept her mouth shut and stared into the deep forests behind them.
"Answer me!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "I was busy okay". "Ohh with your boyfriend" I said bitterly staring deep into my eyes. This made anger burst through her and she slapped me. "I was not with my boyfriend and I don't even have one. I was at the hospital" hearing this my eyes softened. "Why?" I asked looking ashamed.

Thea's POV

I wanted to let it all out. I really wanted to tell somebody. But did I want to tell the person who ignored me and who I didn't even know..... I don't know.

Words started coming out of my mouth. "My dad, he has cancer" as I said this tears stared forming in my eyes. I bit inside my mouth to prevent it from coming out. I didn't want to seem weak infront of him.
Roy seemed to have seen the tears in my eyes and instantly hugged me.
Tears started falling and soon they came as fast like the niagra falls.
He wrapped his arms around me tighter and started saying things like 'it's okay', 'I'm here for you', 'everything will be fine'. But I knew it wouldn't.

After I had calmed down a bit. He released me and I saw that the upper part of his shirt was completely wet because of my tears.

"Can I ask you something" Roy said in the sweetest tone that I have ever heard.
"Umm yeah"
"What do you mean that your dad is in the hospital. Yesterday only I saw him on news."

I had to tell him the whole thing now. Only jake new about it because we have known each other since we were kids.

"He is not my real dad. The guy who you saw on the news is my stepdad. My real dad has cancer third stage and is in the hospital. He is not gonna live longer."

I had not realised yet but I was again crying. Suddenly I was pulled into a set of arms which weren't like the previous ones. I looked up and saw Jake holding me as tight as he possibly could.

"How dare you make her cry!! You stay away from her or else it would be bad" Jake threatened Roy.
"No Jake it wasn't Roy's fault. Can you please leave it. I wanna go home.
"Okay I'll drop you." Saying this he pulled me to his car.

I looked back at Roy and he was still in the same place standing there emotionless.
I turned and went with Jake.
