Adelaide leant against Magnus' counter after Clary, Simon and Luke had left, exhaustion clouding both Magnus' and her own face.
'Well I'm glad that's over.' Magnus commented.
Adelaide snickered. 'For now.'
'What did you tell Clary Fairchild? She looked... off when she returned.' Magnus took Adelaide's hand gently in his own as he led her to her bedroom. The two of them sat on her bed, Adelaide collapsing against the pillows piled up near the headboard.
'I told her the truth.'
Magnus mouth fell open. 'What?'
Adelaide sighed, sitting up to face her friend. 'I told her the truth. Well, some of it anyway. I just told her my name, and I promised her training lessons in exchange for her silence.'
Magnus looked at the girl disapprovingly. 'Getting close to them is dangerous, Addy.'
'I know. But I just - I want to know her. I want to help her find her mother.' Adelaide didn't look at him as she spoke.
Magnus' expression softened. 'You never cease to amaze me Adelaide. There truly is no other shadowhunter that compares to you.'
Adelaide flushed slightly. 'And there is no other warlock quite like you, Magnus.'
'Of course not sunshine, I'm one of a kind.' He winked at her and she laughed lightly.
'How was Luke? Is he okay now?'
Magnus nodded. 'It'll take at least a few days for him to be back to full strength, but he'll live. I warned Clary to give him time before she questions him too much.'
Adelaide nodded, and then yawned. 'I think I'm going to go to sleep, you should too Magnus, you look exhausted.' And it was true, Magnus' usually perfect hair was flat and untidy and the eyeliner surrounding his eyes had smudged slightly during the events of the night. He looked warn down, and despite also using Jace's energy, it was Magnus who was suffering the effects of the spell.
Magnus smiled at her. 'Sleep, I'll see you later in the morning.'

A loud knock on Magnus' door woke Adelaide from her much needed slumber. It was still early, the clock on her nightstand reading 7:29am. She groaned as the person knocked again. She threw her legs out of bed and tied her messy hair into a bun atop her head, as she made her way to the door an immaculately dressed Magnus stepped in front of her, shooing her to the side.
'Hello biscuit, I didn't expect to see you here.'
Adelaide heard a nervous laugh. 'I came to see Adelaide, sorry if I woke you.'
Adelaide stepped into Clary's view. 'You really are eager to learn aren't you?' She smirked and Clary smiled back at her.
'Well don't just stand there, come in.' Magnus called over his shoulder as he walked away from the door.
'You have questions.' Adelaide stated as she stared at Clary, crossing her arms.
Clary's expression was sheepish. 'Only a million or so.'
Adelaide laughed and nodded her head. 'I'll get changed. Did you bring training gear?'
Clary nodded and held up her backpack, still grinning sheepishly. 'Yep!'
Adelaide left Clary with Magnus as she made her way to her bedroom, opening up her closet pulling her black shirt and shorts from it. Adelaide quickly brushed through her hair, tying it up into a ponytail. Adelaide brushed her teeth and made her way out of the room in search of Clary.
