Brooke winced, remembering the times those boys had told her she was ugly, and that she would never have a boyfriend.
She was only 13 when they told her, but the words haunted her for years, she had a fear that the words would become true, as she hadn't had a boyfriend In her 15 years.
Brooke was pretty, the grown ups always told her. She never believed them, though. That group of boys always ruined her confidence.
The girl fixed her clothes as an attempt to look pretty. She knew it was useless, she could never be as pretty as the girls on TV or the girls at school who always had a boy on their arm.
"Brooke! Come down," Brooke's mother called from the kitchen downstairs.
"Coming!" Brooke yelled in response. She hurried out of her room, and down the steps or the stairs. She placed her feet in the right places while running down them, increasing her speed.
"Morning," She said to her family, before retreating to the Refrigerator to grab her breakfast.
She finished her breakfast within ten minutes, and as soon as she did, she ran out the door with a single goodbye.
Brooke didn't have any friends, with the exception of one or two that weren't close. She didn't leave early to Meet anyone, it was to avoid someone-- some people.
She did everything in her power to avoid Max, Drew, Kole, Cody, and Xavier. They were THE boys. The boys who hated her for no reason. No reason at all. They were also those boys who 'ruled the Freshman population at Freemont High'. They had every girl at the high school wrapped around their little fingers, all except Brooke, of course.
Kole and Cody with their clear blue eyes and shaggy brown hair, and Xavier with his chestnut brown eyes and dark colored hair. Drew with those inviting grey eyes and slightly curly light brown hair, and Max with his emerald green eyes that you could be lost in within a second of eye contact and his black hair. Together, they drew the attention of every girl, guy and teacher.
"Hey Brooke!!" Brooke suddenly heard a voice call out, a fairly familiar voice.
She froze, then closed her eyes in frustration. She slowly turned around, knowing who she would be faced with.
"Uh... Hi Kole. Can I help you?" She looked up at his tall figure knowingly.
"Yes, actually, you can. Why don't you make a good use of yourself and go live in a hole?" He grinned, knowing she would be hurt.
"Fuck you," She turned back around, wondering why no one loved her, or even liked her. Her parents were always gone, only home for a week or two ever month. Her sister never talked to her, she hadn't since they were in elementary school. She had no friends, and she hadn't had a boyfriend to make up the love she had lost from her family.
She blinked back the tears and began to walk again, with her speed slightly slowed down.
"Hey Cody?" She heard the boys talking from behind her.
"Yes Kole?" His brother answered him stupidly.
"Do you think... Brooke could be useful one day? I mean, she isn't now, she's just a loner and this world wouldn't make a difference without her."
"Hm... No. I don't. She's just a big, fat waste of space," They laughed.
"How immature..." She mumbled to herself with a sharp breath of air.
"Hey Guys," Another voice joined the others, "Hey
Bitch."
"I hate you," She said quietly. "I HATE you," She spoke louder.
She couldn't stop the tears from falling, they were in control. Without thinking, she turned around to face the three boys behind her-- Kole, Cody, Xavier.
"Why don't you like me?! What did I do to you?! I NEVER did anything to you, and you treat me like crap! Why?! WHY?!" She screamed at them, her words breaking apart as she sobbed.
She turned on her heel and sped away as fast as she could without actually running. Tears sliding down her cheeks as she did.
