I just realized, I have turned into a star enduring the heat. Do I still have to live for a million years? I doubt.
Saving Philipp was never a part of the plan. It just suddenly came out. Being a native of this enchanted world — the situation got worsened, like I am more obliged into mending it.
The motion Bo Young's making through brushing my hair was fairly relaxing. No matter how tired my eyes were, my mind won't settle.
"Better, my lady?" she muttered. I forced a smile and nodded.
"Yeah, thanks. You rest now, Bo Young."
She picked up my used clothes. "It's alright, my lady. I'll wait till you sleep."
She smiled.
My mind let out a silent sigh which I knew she'd never hear. "What d'you think is gonna happen? Will I survive?"
The lady paused for a moment; thinking. Maybe I would but it gives me no certainty if I can stomach this cohesive unit of culture.
"Learning this world so different from yours might take years, my lady. Survival is just among those two doors of choices."
It is.
Her eyes were sad as it has always been. No joy. All tired eyes. The ages have grown so cold to the people.
A king is now reigning; why wait for the dead? That prince must have had what Aurelius is lacking. There must be something wrong. Rebellion wouldn't spark if otherwise.
The doors creaked and Johann appeared from the darkness. The candle's light which gave warmth to the cold night struck his face. His eyes met Bo Young's and the lady knew she needed to depart for a moment.
"The king wants you set early the next day for a mentor will be sent for your refining," he said.
I nodded.
"You'll learn etiquettes, my lady."
I nodded.
"I trust you must know."
I nodded.
"Days from now, our presence will be most required because the palace will hold a ball."
I nodded. What should I say, anyway?
"About the announcement of the nuptial."
That soon?
I wish Johann did not notice my body rattling. I drew air between my teeth. "Okay." He was about to take his first step out when I spoke, "What will happen to me, Johann?"
He blinked.
The prince was out of words, it was news. But still I was hopeful. "You'll be a princess."
I rolled my eyes. Yeah right, it wasn't that obvious. "C'mon. Seriously, man?"
He straightened his back and pinned his eyes on me. Johann Sender was a green-eyed python.
"You will be my Clare."
