Under the Uniform

(CH.3) Here we go

Erin's POV
         Today is the day of my ultrasound, Kim is coming with me for moral support since I have not told Jay yet. I am excited but scared, it's a lot to take in being a single mom. I'm not sure how I will do it but I know I can.
AT THE APPOINTMENT
      "Erin Lindsay"  the nurse called my name. Kim and I entered the room that was decorated terribly, pictures of babies and mom with green and yellow paint. The doctor had come in minutes later. " hello Ms. Lindsay I'm Dr. Amanda James I'm your OB/GYN and I will be preforming all of the tests today" I nodded. " So, Ms. Lindsay I'll get you to lift up your shirt to about you bra, this will be could I will warn you" I winced because of the temperature change. " so there is you little baby, strong heartbeat, definitely one of the healthiest baby's I've ever seen. Would you like to know the gender of the baby?" I thought to myself about Jay.   " sure" I looked to Kim she nodded in agreement . " it looks like you having a healthy baby girl, congratulations" I was having a girl, I never imagined a little me running around. Kim and I left the doctors office and we both went to work. She knew I was going to tell Voight today, but what she didn't know is that I was also telling Jay today... I waked into Voights office and closed the door. " what's up Erin" he asked suspiciously " Well I guess you are going to be a grandpa" " I what, I'm going to kill Halstead. I told him to keep it in his pants, I'm going to kill him" he was furious. " please don't do anything to him, he doesn't even know yet I was going to tell him today" Voight grew even more furious when I told him Jay didn't know " Erin Lindsay you are on desk duty and that's final" I stormed out of his office with everyone staring at me. They heard yelling they didn't know why but they knew it was bad, I wanted to cry but I kept it in. I spent my day thinking of how I would tell Jay, thanks to Voight putting me on desk duty I had nothing but time. I finally decided on how I would tell him. I printed a card template that said "surprise"  and put a picture of the ultrasound in it. I placed it in an envelope and printed a label that said " Jay Halstead open in private" I closed it and placed it on his desk. Being on desk duty is boring and the fact that it took me 1 hour to do all of that amazes me. The squad went out to go and arrest the lead, when they came back I saw Jay grab the letter and go into the break room alone.
Jays POV
         I found a letter on my desk that said open in private so I went into the break room alone. I opened it to find a card that said surprise across it. Inside the care was a ultrasound, a picture of a baby. I looked around to try and find the name and in the top left corner I saw Lindsay,E. Erin is pregnant and it's my baby I'm going to be a dad. I went out to find Erin but she was gone, I asked Voight but he didn't know, and neither did Platt. I found her crying in the locker room, she was alone so I sat down beside her and hugged her. She looked up at me, I kissed her. It was a rich passionate kiss. A kiss we've had before one I always remember. " we're having a baby!" I said happily "I know, Voight was going to kick your butt" she laughed. " I figured that was what all the yelling was about, and the desk duty. Erin how far along are you?" Things went silent " 3... 3 months, I only found out the day I collapsed, I lied to you cause I didn't want you to know" she said " Erin, look at me it's fine I get it I'm just glad you told me, cause the boys thought you were getting fat, not me if course but Ruzek was" I laughed " well I'm not fat I'm carrying a little Halstead girly" she said laughing " Dang I'm going to be in trouble with this one of she looks anything like her mom, she's not going to be aloud to date until she's 80" I made Erin laugh " I agree but if she's tough like her dad then we don't need to worry" Erin said assuringly. After our little conversation we went back upstairs and got to work.
Erin's POV
I'm glad that Jay is here for me, I'm not sure if we are back together but he sure is excited about being a dad. We have to tell the team about the baby because after talking to Jay I don't want them thinking in gaining weight. " he everyone can I have your attention" Jay yelled " Erin and I are expecting a baby girl" Jay yelled. Everyone started cheering and congratulating us. Ruzek walked up to me and said "I knew you were getting fat for a reason" I punched him in the shoulder really hard and everyone started laughing. " I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Ruzek said laughing. " it's fine I'm sorry too, but you can't say things like that around the baby" I replied. " so do you know what your having" Antonio asked us. " we are having a little girl" Jay answered. " so I guess this means we are back together" I whispered in Jays ear. " we are, I've always loved you and I'll never stop Erin Lindsay" Jay said meaningly. " Jay Halstead I wouldn't imagine doing this without you" I replied. Everyone started making kissing faces and teasing. That turned in to chanting of "kiss,kiss,kiss,kiss" so Jay and I kissed, and it was the best kiss I've ever had.
