Lullaby

Darkness spread above,
Like a perfect canopy,
Stars blazing just out of reach,
The skies sing me my perfect,
Lullaby, singing,
Sleep, my dear one, sleep.
A thousand endless dreams,
In the night awake,
To prowl our minds,
For better or worse,
But before I sleep,
I hear the lullaby,
Singing, Sleep, my dear one, sleep.
If you only listen carefully,
The scraping can be heard,
The turning of the earth's,
Ancient cogs,
Set in motion long ago,
By the greatest Author,
Singing, Sleep, my dear one, sleep.
And as all the world drifts,
Into its silent sleep,
Hear the perfect lullaby,
Singing, Sleep, my dear one, sleep.
