"Well, well look who it is," Constance laughed. She flipped her perfect ombré hair over her shoulder and stared down at Kate. "It's the boyfriend stealer!"

"He's not even your boyfriend," Kate mumbled, not bothering to look up at the taller, much more popular girl.

"Oh, and how would you know? He's definitely not your boyfriend. Your not Luke's type."

"And you know who's type your not?" Kate sneered. She was obviously losing her patience and that just made Constance's smirk grow. "My best friend's boyfriend."

"Liam Hartwig?" Constance asked. "He was a good fuck. Such big hands and not to mention a big d-"

"I didn't ask for the details," Kate groaned. "Just stay away from him."

"Stay away from Luke." Somehow she still managed to smile, while on the other hand, Kate was scowling. "How about we make a deal? You stay away from Luke and I'll stay away from your best friend's little boyfriend."

It wasn't hard for Kate to agree because she practically hated Luke. He treated her and all women like freaking objects and she couldn't stand that. So she nodded her head and Constance walked away with her few friends that followed her.

After having to walk all the back to Reese's car she had noticed that her car was no longer in the parking lot. She quickly checked her phone and saw many texts for her best friend saying she had to leave for some unknown reason. Kate assumed that Reese will indeed text her later and explain why she had to ditch her in an almost empty school parking lot.

She sat down on a near by bench texting almost everyone in her contacts, but she did not receive a text back from anyone. After wondering why, she noticed that none of her texts were sending due to the school's very poor connection. Not wanting to stay on the lame campus, she got up and began to walk to the smoothie shop that was near by. When she first started high school her and friends used to walk to it before they had badminton practice. Totally cringing at the memories of her first two years, she ordered her favorite drink. The experience got even worse the kid next to her tried flirting with her. He looked like he could be freaking twelve.

Kate had inquired many awkward conversations in her life and to be completely honest this was the worst. He asked for her number very weirdly and she had to say no. She was scared he was going to start crying. When he finally stopped talking Kate was almost relieved. But she wasn't happy when she saw what made him stop talking.

It was Luke Hemmings.

"Kate." Her name rolled off his tongue easily.

"Hey," She mumbled, taking a sip of strawberry smoothie. She trying to avoid him and maybe, just maybe he would leave her alone.

"Mind if I sit here?" He asked, which didn't really matter because he sat down anyways. "What's up?"

"What do you want?" She asked. She was no longer faking the whole nice girl thing.

"Woah, shouldn't you be thanking me for earlier? I'm giving you a chance now, sweetheart." Luke gave her a smirk and she just wanted to scream. Not the kind of screaming that Luke rather her be doing.

"Thank you," Kate smiled. "For being an asshole. Now if you will excuse me, I have to find a freaking ride because mine ditched me."

"You don't like to swear. You tend to cringe when you do or are about to."

"Wow, thank you captain obvious! Your an ass who also happens to be smart. Great for you." She threw the remainders of her smoothie away and tried called one of her siblings. No response.

"Do you need a ride?" Luke asked, as he walked to his expensive car.

"I don't get it," She sighed, fumbling with her phone. "Your a jerk, but then you offer to do nice things for me. Why?"

Luke shook his head and laughed, "Kate, your a pretty girl and you know what happens to pretty girls who walk alone. Just helping you out."

"Fine."

"Fine what?" He asked.

"You can drive me home. This is the last time, though."
