Rey tried to grab his wrist but he was pressing on her arm with his knee. His other hand that didn't have the scalpel held her other hand. She couldn't breathe, he'd ripped her oxygen mask away and she hadn't even noticed. She felt the blood on her neck and then suddenly he fell on top of her and he'd stopped cutting her. Quickly Rey felt tissues being held to her neck and pressure against the cut.
Rey had never been more happy to see Amethyst standing there, holding a taser in one hand and a her other hand held the tissues on her neck. The irony of it. Years of searching and the one thing that took down Lambast was a girl with a pink taser.
"Sorry Alistair." Amethyst said and turned to look at him. "I know you'd want to be a hero but...."
"No. Thank you." Alistair said sincerely. "Really thank you."
A team of doctors and nurses ran into the room. "We'll need security to cuff him until the police get here, he's a wanted serial murderer. He just cut my friends neck. I don't think it's an artery because she's not dead but still...she's needing oxygen too and my other friend got shot in the leg and now he's gotten beat up."
Alistair sighed. and crawled over to Rey and held out his hand to touch her arm, resting his head against the bed.

It was Valentines day and after a long day of work and having a sore leg that was still recovering (although he was glad that he didn't have to use crutches anymore) he made his way to his room at the school. He opened the door to find the lights were out, the hallway illuminated in candles.
He smiled, a curious look on his face when he noticed a trail of rose petals going straight to his bedroom which he followed. He opened the door and found Rey inside. Sitting on the bed in lingerie. She looked awkward and she still had bruises from her accident. It had been about three week since those events, almost four weeks since he was shot in the leg.
"I know I look stupid but... I did research on Valentines Day as a thing... and...ummm Happy Valentines day?"
"Happy Valentines day Rey."
"I don't really like Valentines Day."
"I didn't until now." he said and walked to the bed. He sat beside her, and ran a hand through her hair, that flowing down. He moved it to the one side of her neck and kissed her skin. "You smell nice." he whispered and she closed her eyes as his hands travelled her body, carefully not to hurt her. He was still in pain, he was sure she'd still be too.
"Your cold." he whispered and moved the straps of her bra down her shoulders. "I think I might have to warm you up."
"I'd like that." Rey whispered. "How was your day?"
She turned around began to take off shirt, kissing his chest when it became bare. "I have to tell you something."
She took off his shirt all together and looked up at him with her big brown eyes.
"I've started teacher training. To teach philosophy. Did I ever tell you about my degree in philosophy."
"You didn't tell me but I saw your certificate up on the wall of your office."
"Have I ever told you how observant you are?"
"Umm...." Rey tried to think. and he lay her down and moved on top of her, his lips pressed against hers the entire time he undressed her.

"It's still cold." Rey uttered as she hugged into Alistair. "Why do you want to be a teacher here?"
"Well... I want a more involved job. Something to make it feel more permanent here. I want to make this a permanent place."
"Are you crazy?!"
"What?" Alistair laughed.
"I have family to keep me here, family who work here but you... you could go anywhere. Why stay here?"
"Because you're here." he said and smiled. "I quite like you."
"Ditto." Rey replied as he stroked her waist.
"Rey can I ask you something?" Alistair asked Rey.
"I think you can." Rey said and smiled.
"I've had journalists, wanting to question me on what happened with Lambast. I told them to screw off."
"That wasn't a question."
"I want you to interview me."
"Oh." Rey uttered. "Are you sure?"
"Yes." Alistair replied. "I trust you to listen, and to let me get my point across. You're the person I trust the most remember?"
She nodded. "Alright." Rey smiled.
"There. All sorted." Alistair replied and pecked her lips. "Are you as sore as I am?"
"You know I can't possibly answer that but I am sore if that's what you're wondering."
"It was worth it though. it's been a while."
"Yeah." Rey chuckled. "And I wanted to do something nice for you."
"You being here was nice." he told her and she cuddled into him. Suddenly he heard light snoring and he grinned. She was sleeping. He lay his head back on the pillow and stare at the ceiling for a while, before his own eyes fell closed and he drifted into slumber.

A week later...
Rey had just gotten back from helping Gillian and Marcus out on a case. It was the early hours. As soon as she got home she snuck to her room. She made her way into bed and sighed. An arm wrapped around her. Rey blinked. As far as she knew, Alistair's training course had taken him to Seattle. Upon inspection it was only Amethyst. Rey breathed a sigh of relief. She thought a psycho had snuck into her bed. She smiled and cuddled up onto the pillow as best as she could.
When she woke up, Amethyst was making up the side of the bed she'd been sleeping on. "Morning." Rey said and yawned.
"What time did you get home at?" Amethyst asked.
"At about 3 AM?" Rey half asked - half answered the question put forth to her.
"You should hurry up. You only have until nine to do that online test."
Rey's eyes widened. "Shit! Shit! Shit! I forgot what time is it?"
"7."
"Oh that gives me two hours." Rey stated and smiled to herself.
"If only we could all be relieved by that as you." Amethyst yawned and made her way out the door. Rey shook her head and sighed before picking up her laptop from under the bed and turning it on to do her work.
