Max had it all planned out, he would just ask as if he were asking for a friend. Which, always worked in TV show clichés right? Right? Reason was: Max was just unoriginal and not very creative so he was going to copy a TV show. Okay? Okay.
Ross wasn't so sure on how it would turn out, but he was almost 100% positive that this was going to turn out well and then everything would turn happy, unicorns, puppies, rainbows, and sprinkles after that.
Key word: Almost.
This could go any form, shape, or way so Ross was preparing for the worst. Meaning that he was currently stacking 10 water bottles and canned foods for the future. Why was he doing this? Why stash this?
Because the worst scenario Ross could imagine was Max being bitten by a zombie in the middle of giving advice.
This was too stupid to be true.
Ross sighed and put the bag away, and just straight up walked up to Max's office. Max was in there, and had his hands in his hair, which was inside of his hat. So it looked like he didn't really have hands at the moment.
Max looked up from his, well, whatever he was doing and saw Ross' confused face. Max untangled his hands from his hair and turned around to be facing Ross fully. Max stood up and simply asked: "What do you need, narwhal?"
"I-I was w-wondering... How would y-you muster up cour-courage to ask someone something that may or may not end up something that might change the way they think of you forever?" The brown haired male had spoken quickly, as to not even think once about stuttering.
Stuttering showed he was weak, which you may think Ross was at first glance. Ross was really independent and strong, but sometimes he might become a stuttering mess and failing in every single way.
Max tried to process what he was saying and ran it through his mind again, and finally got the message. Ross wanted to ask someone some one that would possibly ruin their relationship forever, Max wasn't stupid.
What Max thought of next made him look taken aback, for he just thought that maybe Ross was talking about Max, but then again it could be just a theory. However, it could be Max because of what Ross had said earlier.
"Well, you don't think, you just do. I know what I'm about to say is kind of cliché, but it's true. If they don't accept whatever you're thinking of then they aren't worthy of being your friend." Max finally answered.
"I have a friend who wants to know how to ask someone out." Max asked all in one breath, almost immediately saying it after answering Ross. Ross please don't find out, please, please don't figure it out. Max pleaded in his mind, practically begging it.
"Max, if you wanted to ask me how to ask someone out, you could have just asked." Ross stated, and Max had sighed with annoyance in reply. Ross wasn't done though, and how similar it was to his sentence had Max too.
"Just straight up ask, don't think, and if they don't accept you than they aren't worthy of being your friend." Max hated eating his own advice, but had to admit Ross was right with this one, he had the component all along.
"Is that all? I kind of need to get to work here." Max had said after a comfortable silence, one that was needed just to lay back and think.
"Yah, talk to you later I guess?" Ross half answered half asked, and at this point Max was already in his chair editing because it was his job after all, and looked pretty comfortable in the chair itself, more comfortable than those awkward car rides.
"I guess. I mean we live with each other right?" Max's own words played in his head and realized, if Ross rejected then he would have a problem. They lived with each other. That would be... Awkward.
"Ye." Ross replied as he shut the door loudly, and walked off to his office to record a speed builders with John and Red

Max drove the three home, the car filled with all sorts of conversation and liveliness. No tires could be heard, only the voices of each other in the car tonight. No radio was heard, no honks, no nothing. Just each other.
They had talked about previous challenges, which was either Max or Ross, or both suffering while behind Tim was laughing his butt off. Challenges like the Lego Challenge, the Donut Challenge, the Smoothie Challenge, Cards Against Apples, What's In My Mouth Challenge, the Shock Game Challenge, and many others.
Ross had even thanked Max for subbing for Ross on the Lego Challenge, and in response got a barely audible 'you're welcome'. Even though Ross couldn't see fully in the dark, a light shade of pink had been painted over Max's cheeks.
That night they were comfortable in their homes, comfortable with each other, comfortable in the car. They didn't felt left out, and they didn't feel awkward. The three had the same routine, same feelings, and they definitely had the same jokes that still weren't old enough for them to use.
Their relationships with each other never really changed, they were still best friends, and they always will be. They still confided with each other, joked around, and had fun with each other because they, well, lived with each other.
They could watch movies the same way they used to, sleep how they used to, and talk to each other how they used to. It was the regular routine and nothing could change that. Tim was pretty sure that nothing was different that night then post fiasco with Max and Ross.
Aside from all the similarities, and aside form all of the familiar feelings they used to have Tim did notice, after a while, one significant thing that had changed before the whole ordeal with Max and Ross, they clearly liked each other.
What was that thing that was the change? What was that one bit that was different from all the other nights.
Ross hadn't annoyed Max, but did something else.
Tim didn't know what it was, but it was something for Max to walk out of his door in the morning, a blushing mess.
