Luke's POV
I have no idea where Alexis is taking us or why keep lying to her. If we're going to make this work I need to tell her the things going on. If Hunter is alive, she needs to know. But how do I even tell her without her hating me. I should've just told her the first second. Alexis makes me and Amelia walk to her car, I get into the front with Alexis driving, Amelia sits in the back seat. Alexis plugs her phone into the aux cord and we listen to some music as she starts to drive us to a place I have no idea. I watch her facial expressions, she has a huge grin on her face, if she's happy then I'll pretend to be happy for her. I want her to be happy and if I have to pretend happiness I will.
Alexis POV
I drive to the first location of the adventures we will have today, I pull into the parking lot and a big sign that reads "horseback riding" I look at Luke and then at Amelia grinning like a little kid who just ate a bunch of sugar.
"Ughhh" Luke groans, Amelia looks mutual about it.
"It's going to be fun! I promise!!" I say with a slight sarcasm to it. We exit the car and walk up to where we pay for it.
"And Luke, I refuse for you to pay for any of this" I tell him and pull out my wallet, by the time I get my wallet out he's already paid and has a smirk on his face.
"Lucas Thomas Korns" I sigh and shake my head, he laughs and I look over at Amelia and she's taking a bunch of pictures of us.
"What.. Are you doing?" I try hiding my face.
"I love photography, and just be thankful I'm taking pretty tumblr photos of you!" She laughs and I roll my eyes, we walk into the line of people getting on horses, once I get on my horse I watch Luke try to get on his horse, he struggles a little, I laugh at his face as he looks scared and nervous yet has a small smile on his face all at the same time, what ever will I do with him, guess he's my baby. Literally. A baby. We get on the trial along with a bunch of other people, at times we are on very steep and narrow paths, I'm terrified my horse is going to lead me right of the edge of the cliff, but thank god it doesn't. Amelia gets yelled at for having her camera out, and Luke gets asked several times if he wants off of the horse, we're so dysfunctional people probably worry dearly about us. We get done with the horse trail about an hour and a half later and we walk back to the car.
"So, what did you guys think of the first stop on the Alexis adventure?" I grin.
"It was.. Horrible." Luke says and gets on his hands and knees acting like he's kissing the ground.
"Luke, get up" I laugh and pull his hand in mine until he's standing on his feet again.
"It would've been better if I could've vlogged or taken photos!" Amelia sighs and I nod, of course that's her only take of it.
"Alright, so beside those negatives, what did you guys think?" I ask as we climb back into the car.
"Nice" they both admit and I smile proud of myself. I start to drive to the next location.
"So, does this next location involve ... Food?" Amelia asks as I pull into a little restaurant.
"Wow!! How'd you know??" I say sarcastically and park the car.
"Guess I'm just good at guessing." She shrugs and it makes me chuckle lightly, i look over at Luke and he's staring out the window blankly, like he's lost in thought.
"Babe.. You okay?" I ask taking his hand into mine and gently rubbing it, he nods and looks over at me apologizing, I tell him not to and he nods. We get out of the car and walk inside and sit at a table and order, once we get our food we eat it. As were eating I get a phone call, I frown at my phone.
"I have no clue who this number is, I'll be right back" I say standing up and walking outside, I answer it.
"Hello?" I say kinda annoyed.
"Mommy" I hear a toddlers voice come across the phone.
"Um.. Sweetie I think you have the wrong number. Who is this? Where's your mommy or daddy?" I ask as I see Luke walk out to join me, he frowns at me seeing my confused expression.
"Mommy" the toddler says again and starts crying.
"Can you give the phone to your mommy or daddy?" I ask again.
I hear a mad man's voice come on in the back ground.
"Put down that damn phone right now, what the hell do you think you're doing??" The man screams and I hear the toddler yell at him to not hurt him before the phone cuts off.
"Who was it..?" Luke asks wrapping his arms around me.
"I'm .. I'm not sure" I say putting my phone back into my purse.
"Why don't we go back in and finish eating?" He says rubbing my the side of my arm.
"Luke.. It was a toddler, he kept crying for his mom.. It reminded me of Hunter" I look at Luke in the eyes as tears start to come from mine, his eyes widen slightly before pulling me into a hug, I hug him back as I begin to cry.
"Hey.. Let's go back in and eat.. Hunters in a better place now.." He says kissing the top of my head, I nod and pull away far enough to wipe my eyes, and then he takes my hand into his and we walk back inside.
