Also thank you so much for 1k reads! This means so much to me, hope you guys enjoy the upcoming chapters!

The next day was Christmas Eve, well spent with the Matthews. Josh and I had some flirting going on, as the entire family now knew that we were going on a date. Topanga teased us slightly, but it was all good.

Christmas Day was well spent with my mom and her best friend Lisa that she knows from work. Lisa has been a huge help for my mom, and they're like sisters. Lisa is basically my aunt by now.

The next day, I felt sick so I stayed home, but I still had 4 hours worth of chores to do, aside from the errands of mainly grocery and home essentials shopping to do.

Today was the day, the day of mine and Josh's first date.

Every single happy emotion in my body is reacting right now. I'm so elated, I'm a pink balloon floating away.

My mom has the day off today, so I spend most of it doing nothing, watching TV with her, or freaking out about how I am excited yet nervous for this date.

Maya, this date will go great! You'll be with the cutest boy the entire world, you've been waiting for this moment for ages.

Only now I was thinking how everything could go wrong. I could say something offensive, I could spill a drink, I could be completely rude, I could not be enough. Not be enough, like for everyone on this planet. I'm never enough for anyone, so I won't be enough for Josh. Josh will reject me like all boys have in the past, and I'll end up lonely.

I snap out of the state of mind as my mom calls, "Maya, you should start heading to Riley's by now!"

I look at the clock, it's 4:30 PM, and the date starts at 7pm. Knowing that Riley, Topanga, and I will probably goof off for a good 1/2 hour anyways, I grab my makeup bag, my dress, a purse, my phone, my keys and put them into a backpack. I grab a bag of Lay's chips on the counter, and put on my coat and my black booties, with no heel. He said to dress comfortably anyways.

I yell bye to my mom, and close the door. I swing the backpack over my shoulder and walk down the stairs.

Ms. Samosa's dead ass is somehow capable of signing off stuff on a piece of paper. Wasn't she around when paper was invented anyways?

"Where are you going, dumb blonde?" she barks harshly in her hoarse horse voice.

"For your information, I am going on a date," I reply.

"Lookin' like that, that boy better not like you," she said nasally.

"I could say the same for you, dinosaur."

"That boy made a bad choice!!!" she yells at the top of her somehow not collapsed lungs.

"Apparently every boy in this world made a good decision to not go out with you, or they'd be dead like you!" I shout, and I see her open her mouth but before she can say anything, I slam the door and I'm out.

In a matter of minutes, I'm at Riley's bay window, and I open the window, to see Riley chilling on her bed listening to music.

She gets startled by me opening the window, but then realized it's me, and exclaims, "I am SO READY to get you prepared for this date!!!"

"It's almost as if this were your date...with Lucas," I jokingly wink at Riley, and she blushes at the thought of Lucas.

"So, what are you wearing?" She asks me, and I take out the dress. It is a mainly peach pink, long sleeved dress with a thin, brown belt that has golden metal. The dress has navy Peter Pan collar and bottom hem.

"That's so... perfect! Where did you get it?"

"I used the $50 your mom gave me for Christmas and I bought this dress, along with a few other things, at Forever 21," I reply back, with a smile.

"Nice! Well, can you plug in my curling iron, and I'll call my mom so we can doll you up!" I immediately go to Riley's drawer at her desk with all her beauty items, and take out her magical curling iron and plug it in. The reason it's magical is because it makes any hair look runway ready, even Smackle's hair. Hopefully it'll make my date magical too...

Topanga comes, and they start whipping out random makeup items from my bag, and put them on me. I could probably do this all myself, except I'd mess up about 12 million times.

"I can't believe it, my basically-daughter is going on a date with my brother-in-law! Okay... maybe that's not the greatest...girls, pretend I NEVER said that!" Topanga exclaims. We all laugh.

Even if I'm talking to Riley or Topanga, I still find time to contemplate the terrible outcome of this date.

He'll hate you! He'll do something to hurt your stupid, sensitive self even if it's all your fault you're like this, and you'll go back to your old, bloody ways! You sure didn't deserve your grandma, she's in a place without you! I hate my-

"Maya, you... alright there?" Topanga asked in the most heart-warming voice.

"Yeah, of course, just thinking about the date... a bit nervous...that's all..." I replied, a bit shaky.

"You have nothing to worry about, Maya! He'll like you for who you are!" Topanga reassured.

"Listen to my mom, she's great," Riley attempts winking and we both laugh, as Topanga rolls her eyes.

They start curling my hair, and 20 minutes later, I'm ready to put on my dress. I put on my dress, take black tights from Riley after I realize I forgot mine, my black shoes and my black coat. I grab my peachy colored purse and put my phone and keep some money in there. It would be an understatement to say I love black.

I step out into the halls and Riley squeals, "Perfect!! You look so so adorable!"

"Thanks, and I'll be texting you throughout the date!" I reply back.

"Maya, you look beautiful, and Josh is waiting for you in the living room," Topanga says.

I look at Riley, and I smile. She smiles back, knowing I might not do terrible on this date. I take a deep breath in, and out. I slowly walk down the hall, trying to hold back my tears of stress. I step out into the living room, and immediately Josh turns his head and looks at me.

"W-w-wow, Maya! Y-y-you look g-great!" He says, smiling wide. I'm sure it's just an act, but it's all the attention I receive.

I smile back and say, "Thanks, Josh..." and as I look away, smile even bigger.

"Okay, okay, time for pictures!" Topanga says in a cheery voice, and grabs the family Canon Rebel camera.

"Topanga, this ain't prom!" Josh jokes, and Topanga rolls her eyes. We take a few awkward pictures, and Josh opens and hold the door open for me. We step out, and we go down the stairs.

The cold air then breezes towards us as he additionally opens the downstairs door to the outer world. We start talking about how our past few days were, to catch up, as I remember he never told me where our date is supposed to be.

"Josh, you know, you never told me where out date was supposed to be. So, where is it boy?" I ask him, with a hint of two of flirtation.

"You'll see", he replies and winks. On the outside, I may just look like a flustered little girl, but on the inside I feel like my feelings box has been completely unleashed.
