Chapter 1: Rapunzel- Off on her own

Rapunzel-- Off on her own

Rapunzel woke on the day of her tenth birthday to the sound of tapping. 'Mother?' Rapunzel thought,

'No, mother's NEVER up this early!' She popped open her eyes and saw a small tawny owl, tapping on her tiny bedroom window. Rapunzel flew out of bed and ran to the window silently with bare feet.

'Awwww Ohmygosh hes so cute!' Rapunzel thought as she opened the window, as quietly as she could, as to not wake her mother below. The small owl fluttered in and landed on Rapunzel's dresser, then stuck out his beak and dropped a letter in which he had been carrying. Rapunzel picked up the letter cautiously, wondering if it was for her; but no! Rapunzel has never gotten a letter before, how could she, she has never even left her tower! Surely this was meant for mother. But then she saw the address, marked so beautifully in emerald green ink:

Rapunzel was mystified. It wasn't for mother; in fact, it was addressed so correctly there was no possibility for a mistake!

'What an amazing birthday present! My very first letter!!' Rapunzel squealed with excitement.

She quickly scanned it for an sign of who sent it, but there wasn't one. All there was, was a crest on the back of the letter divided into four pieces, in each section was an animal. One was a type of majestic bird, (Rapunzel wished she had more books, maybe then she could identify what type of bird this was) a Lion, a snake, and another type of animal Rapunzel didn't recongnize, all surrounding a letter H.

She didnt hesitate to rip open the envelope, and pull out the letter. After reading the letter Rapunzel was speechless. She had to re-read it a couple of times until it sunk in.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: ALBUS DUMBLEDORE (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)

Dear Ms.Corona , We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1, and the Hogwarts express will be arriving at kings cross station, London England. We await your owl by no later than July 31. Yours sincerely,

'Witchcraft and Wizardry?' A thousand thoughts and questions bopped into Rapunzel's head. She had heard of wizards, witches and magic before but she had never dreamed that it was real, let alone that she was one of them! Rapunzel realized that she would have to figure this out on her own; her mother was very clearly, not a witch, and if Rapunzel told her about this letter she probably wouldn't believe her. 'Why would they want me? I'm nothing special!...well except for my hair... But does that consider me a witch? Mum always said that witches are ugly old evil ladies (another reason not to go outside) but...I don't know...there's no proof of that at all! Who says witch's are always evil? Who ever said I can't be magical?' Rapunzel's happy thoughts were interrupted by someone walking into her room.

"Good morning mother!" Rapunzel greeted her mother cheerfully, while at the same time thinking

'How am I going to get to Hogwarts...I've never heard of kings cross in London before but maybe mother knows...that's it. I'll have to tell her.'

"Morning my flower." Her mother said sleepily. "Rapunzel why in the world are you always awake at this time of day? "

"...Well I dunno... Anyway mother, uh, I have something to ask you. Today I got-"

"Rapunzel can we talk about this in a minute? I just woke up!" mother interrupted irritated, "at least let me make my tea!" And she slumped downstairs. meanwhile Rapunzel had a chance to think about how she was going to break it to mother. When she thought she had a suitable way, Rapunzel followed her mother downstairs.

She toke a deep breath before confronting her mother, now making tea in there tiny kitchen.

"Ok. Mother I wanted to ask you whether you've every heard of a place called Hogwarts before?"

My mother looked at rapunzel suddenly and she saw a flash of panic in her eyes, but that was quickly replaced with confusion that punzie doubted was real. "No of course not Rapunzel! what kind of crazy name for a place is that?" Her mother snapped. Rapunzel decided to get to the point.

"Well this morning I got this letter. Its says that I've been excepted to go to to Hogwarts school... and I want to go.' Rapunzel said as clearly and boldly as she could, "It says that term starts September 1st. And a train will pick us in in place called London-" Rapunzel's mother snatched the letter from Rapunzel's hand.

"Nonsense!" she snapped but still read over the letter. After a long minute of silence Her mother said sternly. "No. Absolutely not Rapunzel."

"WHY?" Rapunzel demanded.

"I'm not going into this discussion!"

Rapunzel was, once again, speechless. She felt like bursting into tears. She had a chance, a small thin chance to explore, and experience things. a chance to meet friends, and more than likely read ALL the books she wanted. And now its gone. But maybe not. A strange rebellious idea popped into Rapunzel's head.

'No! I cant! I would be in SSOOOOOO much trouble!....but still....I would have to go into the world anyway if i ever wanted to go to Hogwarts. I would be without her from the moment I left on the train, throughout the rest of the year anyway? Whats the difference if mother comes or not?' Rapunzel made up her mind.

At... lets say 12:30Pm about 2 weeks from september first, (which was still quite a ling time away), when Rapunzel's mother would be long fast asleep, Rapunzel would sneak out. Sure she had her doubts and questions but she wasn't going pass down this chance. Not in a life-time.

"Alright mother. I understand." She lied, "I'm going up to my room, to brush my hair, I'll be back down when I'm finished." When she got back into her room She wrote a quick note saying she was going to attend Hogwarts and that she had her mothers permission, and walked back to the sweet little owl, still waiting patiently on her bed-post. She handed the note to the owl and said gently to it, "Okay. I want you to give this back to whoever sent you ok? but then come back and find me. I'll probably be somewhere in the forest around this tower, trying to find somebody who can help me. Okay? got that?" the owl gave a reassuring hoot. "Okay. see you soon."

'This is mad!'  She thought to myself, but started to pack what little things she had anyway.

I am fixing up this story!! YYAYYYY! Everything is going to remain the same other than some pictures and Jack's chapter! I solved my own problem, He is going to be mortal at this point in the story, so, Jack frost before Death and rebirth.
