New Friend

     When Jean locked the door behind him he was still smiling from his encounter with Marco. He stripped off his sweatshirt and made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower before properly getting into bed. He honestly couldn't wait till tomorrow when he could have a decent conversation with Marco.
     Once Jean got out of the shower he once again found himself totally exhausted and collapsed into bed only barely managing to pull the covers over himself.

The next morning Jean awoke to the sound of Bring me to life by Evanescence, he had set it as a joke but now it was annoying as f*ck, he groaned and hit the top of the alarm clock instantly silencing it. He dragged himself out of bed and pulled on some skinny jeans, a plain back t-shirt, and an old beanie. He decided against putting in his piercings not wanting to be attacked by satan in the form of a teacher. He grabbed his bag and wallet and made his way out the door exiting at the exact time as his new neighbor.
"Oh!" Marco gasped in surprise only to break into another one of his life saving smiles " It seems we leave at the same time!"
Jean took a second to adjust to the smile and made a small one of his own scratching the back of his head,
" It seems we do.... Going to school?" Jean inquired
"Yeah on my way now, you?" Marco replied
"Yep, I was gonna stop by a coffee shop first if you wanna come..." Jean mentally slapped himself for being so forward when he just met the guy, but hey how will you make friends if you don't put in the effort am I right?
"Really?! That would be awesome I have literally no idea where anything but the university is since I just moved in!" Marco beamed.
"No problamo man, follow me." Jean gestured for Marco to follow him and started to walk down the stairs to the nearest coffee shop which was only about a block away. Marco eagerly followed and they made small talk on the way asking questions like what's you favorite color? Did you like that new band? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior? When they finally got to the coffee shop they were both laughing, god Marco had a beautiful laugh, they ordered their coffee's and both of them filled it with about a million sugar packets before grabbing a muffin and heading to the school now feeling that they had been friends for years. When they got to the university they had to go in different directions so said a quick good bye and promised to meet after school to hang out. Jeans mood had gotten increasingly better the more time he spent around Marcos warm smile so the world seemed a little colder and darker when the finally parted and it got infinitely worse when he heard Eren and Connie snickering from behind the corner.
