Lisa's POV
It was the late afternoon when we were coming home from filming our new cover. I sat in the front seat of our minivan, rubbing my aching head from the disaster that happened during filming. I'm not trying to blame it on Lauren, but she kept messing up her words, not listening to us, and was off key every time. She practically wasted all of our time. We could've been done by lunch, but no.
I turn my body back and give Lauren a glare. She looks up at me but quickly avoids my gaze and keeps her eyes locked on her iPod. I give her a smirk before I turn back and start talking to Christina.
I know that everyone was in a grumpy mood with Lauren, as Lauren was with everyone else. Everyone in the car tried to sit as far as they could from the girl, not talking to her once, until Dani wanted to change seats.
"Lauren. Scoot over." Dani squats up and pushes Lauren into the window seat next to the middle seat.
"Fine." Lauren unbuckles her seatbelt and moves into the next seat. She doesn't buckle up her seatbelt, but she rests her head on the window, eyes still on the iPod.
I take my camera out and decided to start filming a vlog for our upcoming video.
"Hey everyone! We just finished filming and are heading back home. Say hi, Christina." I say as I turn my body in the seat, so both Christina and I are in the picture.
"Hi everyone!" She says as she takes one hand and eyes off of the wheel and looks at camera and waves. "We can't wait to see you guys at our upcoming to-"
"CHRISTINA! THE ROAD!" Amy and Dani scream at Christina. As she looks back up, a huge semi truck comes at us. Christina steers the wheel sharply to the right to avoid the car. But it was no use. The semi slammed into Christina's side of the car, making our mini van flip once over to the right side of the road. Everything becomes still and quiet right after the impact. The airbags deploy, the smoke rises from the dashboard so it seems like the car might be on fire. My heart was racing, video camera still in hand. I look over to my right and see Christina resting her head on the steering wheel, shaking.
"Is everyone okay?" I raised my voice in the silence.
"Yeah!" Katherine calls out.
"Yeah." Dani coughs.
"Yeah." Christina says with a weak voice, not moving her head.
"Yeah!" Amy responds.
"Lauren, are you okay?" I put the camera down in my bag and pulled out my cell phone. There was no response from her again.
"Where's Lauren?!" Amy shrills.
"What?" I turn my body, filled with confusion. As I look in the back, only three people were in the car. Lauren's seat was empty. "Where's Lauren?!"
I unbuckled my seat belt and crawled to the backseat to Lauren's seat. And that's where I saw her. Motionless. Her body had been flung out of the car window in the crash. "Katherine, get everyone out." I screamed at her filled with panic. I opened her side door and stepped out with ease, falling onto my knees next to her body.
"Oh my god. Lauren." Katherine covered her mouth as the other four sisters surround us. The sight of Lauren made me sick to my stomach. There was a huge gash that ran along her forehead to her neck. There was shars of glass from the window everywhere across her body. Her face and her white shirt was completely stained with blood. Her arm was dislocated, not bending the right way, and broken in two places, showing the white bone. Her eyes were open, but she wasn't responding.
"LAUREN!" I screamed at her while everyone was shaking.
"Someone call 911 and Mike!" Katherine screamed at everyone as she tried moving everyone away from me and Lauren.
"Lauren. Wake up." I repeated in between sobs as I put my hands on her shoulders. "Please." I say in a weaker voice. I look into her open, cold brown eyes as I run my fingers through her hair until I feel something sticky on my fingers. I take my hand out, seeing the crimson color.
"Katherine! Are they coming?!" I scream at everyone, not taking my eyes off of Lauren.
"Yes!" she yells over the sirens that become louder.
"Stay with us, Lauren." I run my fingers through her hair, ignoring the blood on my hands.
The ambulance vehicle slams its breaks in the middle of the road as it spots our car. I drown out the lights, sirens, and men rushing out of the cars until I am grabbed from behind, being dragged away by Amy and Dani from Lauren's motionless body.
"NO! PLEASE!" I scream flailing my legs as the paramedics grab Lauren and put her on the stretcher. They roll her into the ambulance car and some men follow her in while the others slam the doors shut behind her. The sirens turn back on and the vehicles was back in motion.
I couldn't take it anymore. I fall into Amy's arms, burying my head into her neck. I can't take it anymore. If Lauren died, I would be the worst sister ever. Moments before, I didn't care if she was alive or not. But now that it's happening, I regret everything.
The next few hours were a blur. The paramedics messing with us, making sure everything was okay. I couldn't even feel the gash on my forehead or my head throbbing at first because of the shock. They told me I had a concussion, but all I could think about was Lauren. The guilt was rising in me. What if she's dead? I'm an awful sister. As I sit on the side of the road, I hug my knees closer to my body and look up at the others. Amy and Dani were being checked up on by the paramedics, Katherine was on the phone, probably with Mike, and there was Christina. I bet she feels worse than me. She was sitting in the same position inside of the car I saw earlier, her resting her head on the steering wheel while she was talking to the police men, who was filling out a car accident report. I could defiantly tell that he wasn't happy with what Christina did.
One by one, the emergency vehicles left, leaving only the police car who was filling out a report still here. I stood up on shaky legs and made my way over to the damaged car he was standing in front of.
"Excuse me?" I asked as he looked up from his report, "Could you please drive us to the hospital? That was our little sister."
He grimaced for a moment at the car, but looked back up at me with a smile. "I'll see what I can do." The young police officer responded as he tucked his pen into his coat pocket and walked back to his car.***************************************
