I finally found a dress that I liked in Boscoves. It was a one-shouldered, sweet-heart neckline white dress that flowed out at the bottom and stopped a little below mid thigh. When I found it Zoey and Christine said it was too cheap. I'd just rolled my eyes at them. As long as it was cute, it was fine with me.
The car ride back was even more unbearable. All that was talked about were boys, clothes, and makeup. I didn't care much for of any of the categories.
"Sher, we're here." Zoey said. I looked up. We finally made it home!
"Oh alright. Thanks guys!" Sheridon said with a smile.
"No problem girl. Just remember to hide the dress." Christine said with a laugh.
Sheridon grinned.
"No worries." she replied climbing out the car.
I sighed and went to leave, but before I could Christine said,
"Good luck with that dress. Hope it fits."
I couldn't tell if she was being honest or not.
"Yeah, same." I said with a slight smile before climbing out.
I followed Sheridon into the house, and stopped at the door. I was caught off guard to see Zach sitting on my couch.
"Hey guys." he said to me and Sher.
"Um..hey." I replied looking at him questionably. "Watcha doing here?"
He laughed after seeing my facial expression.
"What? A guy can't visit his best girl friends once in a while?"
"Not when you don't call first." I answered with a smile, dropping my bags on the kitchen counter. "Now, the real reason?" I asked when I rejoined him in the living room.
"I actually have to ask Sherri some questions."
"And you couldn't call me why?" Sheridon asked walking out of her room.
I took a seat on the couch next to Zach.
"Well," he started "Your phone was off, and I live right across the street, so why not just walk."
"Physical activity." she replied.
I laughed and Zach rolled those crystal blue eyes of his.
"You're such a lazy being." he replied.
Sheridon gasped with mock hurt.
"Well! I'm not answering any of your questions if you're gonna be like that."
"Fine fine. Well..." he started. He looked at me. "Er...could I ask you in your room?" he asked her.
I gasped, shocked. When would the secrets end?!
"It's okay guys, I'll do you the favor and just get up since nobody seems to tell me anything anymore." I stood up to walk away.
"No Kels, it's okay." Zach called. I crossed my arms and headed towards the kitchen.
"No really, I'm fine." I lied. "I'll be in my room." I also wanted to see how the dress fitted anyway. After grabbing my dress, I climbed the stairs to the top and headed down the sunlit hallway to my room. Once I reached the door, I pushed it open and my colorful room welcomed me. Two of my walls were painted blue, and the others a deep shade of purple. Colorful posters lined my walls along with pictures of me, Zach, and Sheridon that were taken last summer.
I dropped the bag onto my quilt which was designed with multicolored polka dots over a white backdrop.
As you can see my room's very...bright. It fit my personality perfectly. My parents had the room specially designed for me about three years ago.
After taking off my shoes and jacket, I headed to my bed and out the dress from the bag. I stripped my clothes , and slid it over me. It felt very comfortable. I stepped over to my full-length mirror to admire how it looked on me. Honestly...I was a bit discouraged when I saw my image.
The dress fit me perfectly on top, but I couldn't get over how large my hips appeared under the white fabric. I turned to the side, and noticed my rear-end didn't look to pleasant either. Zoey's words echoed in my head.
Fat ass.
Suddenly, I wasn't too satisfied with the dress anymore. I quickly unzipped it, and slid it off my body. I looked into the mirror once again. Since when had I become so...heavy? My hips were far too wide, and my butt!! It was just awful. Certainly I hadn't always looked like this, had I?
