There it was. The 3 run homerun that changed everything. That crack of the bat, everyone was out of their seats and screaming at the top of their lungs.

All the guys jumped over as the staff and I were hugging each other in the dugout.

Once Jose made it back to the dugout, the noise in the stadium did not stop.

"Mr. Joey Bats!" I said and hugged him.

"With the help of you of course."

"I had nothing to do with it. You wanted it so you showed everyone."

He continued getting hugs from all the guys.

Before we knew it the champagne was raining all over the field.

22 long years and the Blue Jays are the AL East champions. I couldn't be more proud.

After we finished getting cleaned up from all the champagne, we headed out as a team for dinner.

I knew as much as the guys wanted to celebrate, I still wanted us to spend good quality time as a team. Even though the fans are really nice people, we just needed this time to be ourselves together so I booked the back room of a restaurant.

A few of the waiters recognized the guys but they were super cool about it.

"Beer's on me boys." I said raising my bottle.

All the guys raised their bottles and said thank you.

"While everyone is still listening to me, I just wanted to say how proud I am of you guys. You were down 2-0 in the series and you came back and fought for it, as a team. Jose, man, you went beast mode on that swing." A few of the guys laughed. "We start the ALCS in a couple of days, I don't know how that might go but just want to say whatever happens, I'm still proud of all of you. 22 years is a long time." I said taking a sip of the beer. "These are the glory days boys." I raised my glass as all the guys followed.

We all just spent the rest of the night talking about stuff other than baseball. It was nice to know we could all be friends and not always be talking about the one thing that brought us together.

Once we got back from the restaurant, I wanted to pack my things before we left for Kansas City. We were leaving in the afternoon but I wanted to get as much sleep as I could.

Nothing could stop these guys from moving forward to the World Series. And I really wanted them to.

I kept looking at the ceiling. I couldn't even sleep if I wanted to.

I decided to sit in the porch to let my thoughts flow through my mind.

Once I opened the door, I questioned why I always had to sit out in the porch.

"Why is it we always think of the same things." I said to Aaron who was on his phone.

"I guess it's meant to be." He mumbled but I could still hear what he said.

"What?" I said, making sure I didn't hear wrong.

"Nothing."

"Okay."

I sat down in the chair next to him. There was always something in the back of my mind that bothered me but when I was around Aaron, that feeling wasn't there. I don't know if that's telling me something, but I knew I had to tell him.
