Ever since I showed Aaron the room I put together he's been spending so much time in there. He just real admired all the hard work that we both did to get to where we are. All of our old jerseys were hung in there, medals, and pictures.

We both made the decision to have thanksgiving dinner at our house since it would be the first time we'd have a huge family dinner.

I called Aaron's parents a few days ago and told them about the thanksgiving dinner at the house. They were both so excited about our first holiday dinner in the new house. I decided to just fly them out and told them to keep it a secret from Aaron.

"Aaron!" I yelled from the living room. He pretty much lived in that one room of the house.

A few minutes later he came down the stairs.

"Yeah?"

"We're going thanksgiving shopping remember?"

"Oh yeah. Hold on." He said and went back upstairs to change, which I assumed since he came down in some old shorts and t-shirt.

I grabbed the keys as he came down the stairs and started the car.

"Hey why don't you call your parents? Ask them to come out to New York for thanksgiving."

As I drove to the grocery store, Aaron called his parents.

"What'd they say?" I asked after he hung up.

He looked so disappointed. "They said they can't come."

At this point I was pulling into the parking lot of the grocery store. Once we got out of the car, I couldn't help but want to tell him. I tried so hard to keep the secret in.

He grabbed a cart as we walked into the grocery.

"I'm sorry, babe." I said, hugging him and rested my head on him, arm still wrapped around him.

"It's okay, maybe I'll go out to California after Thanksgiving."

We walked around the store and grabbed everything we needed for the dinner. I didn't know what I was getting so I got Marcus' mom and my mom send me a list of stuff to get.

I knew how to cook, but taking on Thanksgiving dinner is going to be a big task. Aaron and I tried to get all the stuff back into the house in one trip.

"Need any help?" Someone said from the car.

It was Marcus.

"Just shut up and park the car."

Once everything was put away, I dropped myself on the couch.

"How am I going to be able to do this."

"You basically took care of me my whole life, you'll survive." Marcus said.

7am on Thanksgiving Day and I felt like I was going to die. I was so tired and not in the mood to even start doing anything.

Not long after I was done brushing my teeth, the doorbell rang.

"Okay, I swear I didn't tell my mom to come until 10." I said to myself.

I opened the door and was surprised to see who was there.

"Adlin! Jayden! What are you guys doing here so early?"

"I thought I should come by and help with Thanksgiving dinner early."

"This is why I love you. Happy Thanksgiving!" I said
