It was dark in the hallway. I managed to get in while it was already past the curfew so the lights were all turned off. Hearing my footsteps echo, I hummed a song to not make myself feel so lonely. And scared.
To be honest, I was always scared to be walking alone in a dark building. If it's on the streets, I wouldn't mind because I would still have car lights or street lights to guide me, but now. I couldn't even see anything in front of my eyes. And I didn't want to turn on the lights, since I didn't want them to notice that I was still roaming around here at midnight.
And I had no use with my phone, hence the battery died.
I groaned at myself, but when I saw light at the end of the hallway, I smiled. Yes, light!
I quickly walked over and when I turned around the corner, I saw a tall figure leaned against the wall.
I flinched and held in my breath to not scream.
"Yah! You scared me!" I scolded him and he chuckled.
"You're late," he told me as he pulled out his phone and looked at the time. I frowned and looked at him.
"Are you checking on me, Jungkookie?" I asked, crossing my arms.
He shook his head and snorted. "Did you just come back from your date?" He eyed me from head to toe.
I smirked and nodded.
"Why, are you jealous? It was a romantic date," I smirked and I stepped closer to him.
He looked down at me and glared into my eyes.
"And he didn't walk you back home in the dark?" He scoffed. He seemed displeased with something.
I frowned and looked up at him. Our faces were only a few inches away and this time, he suprisingly didn't flinch or freak out.
He was confidently looking into my eyes with a scowl. Was he angry with me?
"Err... no, we parted ways when we left the restaurant." I told him.
He raised an eyebrow. "Which restaurant?" He urged.
His gaze was intense and I had to avert my eyes once. He was intimidating somehow.
I quickly thought of a name.
"HanKook restaurant,"
He closed his eyes and let out a low breath. He frowned and pinched his nosebridge.
"So you tell me that you walked the whole three kilometers all by yourself in the dark?" He scowled.
I blinked with my eyes. Wait, there's really a restaurant called HanKook? And what's up with his guts all of a sudden?
"And you didn't pick up when I called or texted you, do you know how dangerous it is to walk alone in the dark?" He snapped.
I frowned. "I'm here, right, nothing happened." I said. "Calm down. Why are you so worked up?"
He let out a frustrated sigh. "Who's this Jackson anyway? Isn't he worried for your safety?"
"Wait," I said, and eyed him long. "Were you worrying about me?"
He took a step closer and I had to take one back. Well, this is new. Why is he so scary?
"Give me your phone," he ordered with a low voice.
"My battery died, there's no u-"
"Give me your phone!" He interrupted me. I flinched and immediately searched for my phone.
