We were in the very back of the school now, way back in the coach's offices of the athletics locker rooms. Jeremy and Clayton were both tied up in chair in opposite corner of the room, with their heads down. They were still knocked unconscious.
Jamie whistled lowly, gesturing to Jeremy, "So this asshat is your mate?"
"Unfortunately," I nodded, pursing my lips as I did so.
He shook his head, "That's fucked up."
A sudden intake of air cut us off and we both turned our heads to face Jeremy, lifting his head and groggily looking around the room. He found me and narrowed his eyes, "What the hell is this?"
"You wanted to see Chandler," I answered. I gestured to Jamie, "Well here he is."
Jeremy turned to see him, looking him up and down as if scrutinizing every part of him before saying, "I could take you."
Jamie fake laughed, "As humorous as that is, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I mean, you underestimated my little friend here, didn't you?" He pointed to me over his shoulder and I waved sarcastically to Jeremy. Jamie continued, "You know what your fatal flaw is, Jerry?"
"Alpha Jeremy," He corrected.
He waved him off, "Whatever, Germy. Anyways, your fatal flaw is overconfidence. You think you're the best and that no one can beat you. But look around, your beta is still over there unconscious and tied up and well, you're tied up too. Doesn't that leave you wondering how the rest of your pack is faring right now?"
He growled, "I swear to god if you fucking hurt anyone else I'll rip your god damn throat out myself!"
Jamie smirked, and turned to me, "Violent."
"He's got the talk but not the walk," I shrugged.
Jeremy narrowed his eyes at me, "You wanna test that theory out?"
Smiling, I leaned forward, "Sweetie, it's not just a theory. It's a fact."
At that, he growled even louder.
"If you growl louder," I started, walking up to him and squatting down, pacing my hand on his leg. He stiffened, and I smiled, squeezing his leg and pushing my claws into it, "maybe it'll get you out of this."
"You're a sadistic, sociopathic bitch," He spat.
I shrugged, "Comes with the job, I suppose."
A groaning from the other corner of the room cut our ever so delightful conversation short as the beta began to come to.
Jamie looked at me, "I'll take care of him."
That being said, he dragged the chair out of the room very loudly, waking Clayton up fully. He yelled through the gag in his mouth, thrashing, but to no avail. The door shut behind them, muffling the sound. Pulling a chair up in front of him, I straddled the back and tilted my head, fully taking in the image of Jeremy. My mate.
His long brown hair was tousled and messy, hanging over his forehead and almost in his eyes, but not quite. His chocolate brown eyes were dark and dangerous, but if I looked close enough, I could see plenty of vulnerability.
As my father always said, the key to a man's weakness is his eyes. The eyes will always give away more than he will. So I stared into them.
"You know my name, but I don't know yours," He suddenly stated.
I raised a brow, "So?"
Rolling his eyes, Jeremy sat back in the chair, "So, what's your name, princess?"
"Maybe it's none of your business," I retorted.
"It's a little unfair, then. You know so much about me, but all I know about you is that you're psychotic and violent," he replied.
"Mm," I hummed, "You're gonna have to earn my name, doll."
He smirked, "Unfortunately, I won't be here long enough to do that." Suddenly he lunged forward and tackled me to the ground, pinning me down. "The only question is whether you're coming with me or not."
Head-butting him and throwing him off of me, I regained my footing and threw my fists up, blowing some hair out of my face, "That would be a definite not."
"Sorry to hear that," He ground out, lunging at me and swinging his fist which I easily evaded. Yelling, I managed a swift kick to the ribs and he stumbled back a few steps, hissing in pain. "You'll regret that."
Cracking my neck, I laughed dryly, "I highly doubt that."
Rushing forward, I landed a few more blows to his abdomen, while dodging his retaliations. Spinning, I planted a roundhouse kick to his chest-- or I would have, if he hadn't caught my foot. Gripping it tightly, he flipped me and threw me to the ground. I landed with a loud thud, most of my breath escaping me momentarily. He rolled me over so I was lying on my back with his foot and straddled me, pinning me down once again, "I think I won, princess."
And with that he quickly stood and threw me across the room and into the wall. On my way down, I landed on the coach's desk, completely shattering it. Coughing, I looked up to fight his next blow and instead saw the door closing.
Swearing, I jumped up and threw the door open, only to come face to face with Jamie, who sported a swollen eye.
I sighed and he frowned, looking up at me sheepishly, "They got away."
"You've got to be shitting me," I pushed past him and stormed all the way back to my house and into my office, picking up my phone and looking up Jeremy's number before calling it.
"Hello?" He answered, his voice a little out of breath.
My eyes narrowed, despite the fact that he couldn't see me, "You little bastard."
"Princess!" he exclaimed. "I'm so glad you were able to pull yourself out of that desk. But if you don't mind, I'm a little busy making a deal with Alpha James here, so, ta-ta for now!"
The line clicked as he hung up and I growled, frustrated before throwing the phone across the room. It shattered as it hit the wall, knocking off some paint and plaster as well. Pacing back and forth, I was breathing rapidly and didn't notice until Jamie walked in, "Calm down, Chan, it's gonna be fine."
"Shut up!" I shouted, turning to him with angry lasers for eyes, "How did they manage to get away? Why was there not more security around the school?"
He frowned, "I'm sorry, I messed up."
I slapped him across the face and yelled, "You're damn right you fucking messed up!" Sitting back down in my chair, I sighed, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have slapped you I'm just-- I feel so overwhelmed and pissed off right now."
"It's okay," he smiled, sitting across from me, "And for what it's worth, that Jerry guy is such a fucking asshole and I hate him, too."
I scrunched up my nose, "He is an ass, isn't he?"
