Chapter 15: Knight in Black

Dscore's pov

We arrived at the village. The elves were trying very hardly but brutally failing at giving a warm welcome. But we didn't really care. We saw Scythus and his party. Elou, Lili, and Akko. "Greetings Dscore." "Uh, hi." I was never really much for acting like a real noble person. I mean, it's not like we really have to act like this. It is still a game, right? Anyways, "So, any ideas on the assassin?" "No, we're trying to have Elou look at the scene and track them down and...." He stopped talking as he saw Sans. He looked surprised. "Oh, uh...you." "Yeah, me." They didn't really seem to like each other very much.

Sans's pov

I don't like Scy because I believe he should be burning in hell for his crimes, but my monster soul says he's clean. 

Scy's pov

Sans...sigh. There's a reason I kicked him out and never told anyone he was ever in. He's very...judgmental about people and what they do. Anyways, Elou called and said. "CAN'T FIND ANY TRACES!" "What?" Did I hear him right? "It was a sniper. Those people are impossible to track because of how far away they commit their crimes from."

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. I could hear a bullet fly towards me, but it bounced off a barrier Lili cast on me before we came here. "Speak of the devil." I said as the assassin bounded from the trees. He wore leather armor and was holding a musket rifle. It seemed very light for a musket. Probably modified. He then drew a Single-edged shortsword. 

"Charge!" My party ran at him. Aiko threw a fireball but the assassin shot her hand first. Then Lili tried healing her sister but then the assassin speed-reloaded and shot Lili in the chest. Musket's are the highest-damaging gun weapon in the game, so that had to deal a lot of damage. Elou shot arrows at him.

"RAPID FIRE" He shot barrages of arrows. They all seemed to miss. Elou looked surprised. "My turn?" The assassin spoke, and shot at Elou. He hit his bow, breaking it, then it hit him in the shoulder. He fell to the ground. I looked around myself. My friends...all defeated in one shot each. I stood there. I couldn't believe this. My friends....

Dscore's pov

No..that's impossible. They were all gunned down so quickly. All my knowledge on this game has been thrown out the window. No one should be able to have that much accuracy when he doesn't even have a monster soul. I can tell because souls kinda can sense other souls.

Anyways, Sans just looked at him. It looked like he logged out, but....why? The assassin charged. I shot with my pistols but he dodged gracefully. Sam swung with her mace but the assassin jumped and kicked her in the face. Followed by shooting her knee. Denis ran at him in Phoenix first form.

"FLAME BURST" A burst of fire shot out of his body and actually hit him. "Nice one. But nothing stops me!"

"SNIPE SHOT" I shot at him while he was hurt. I got him. "Done yet?"

"RAPID SHOT" He rapidly reloaded and shot his gun continuously at Denis. Eventually, he fell. He then took aim at me.

"FINAL SNIPE SHOT" This would hurt. I tried dodging, but it was like the bullet was following me. I would die! UNtil..

"FLAME BOOSTER" I heard the sound of lead hitting flesh. I looked. And Scy jumped in front of me. I saw him fall. He saved me. I took a deep breath, and raised my sword and shield. 

"Hahahah. You can't stop me! SNIPE Shoooot......!" His gun jammed! This is my chance! I charged at him.

"OVERHEAD SLASH!" He blocked with his blade, and he pulled out his pistol with his other hand and shot from nowhere! Ending the collision, with me falling to the ground. "Targets, defeated." I heard him whisper. I was dying. I waited for the logout, but...nothing happened. Even though my hp was below 0%, I felt like I couldn't die, I WOULDN'T DIE! "What?" I looked up, Sans logged back in. "Sorry about that, I had to message the game developers to warn them about a hacker." Wait, what? A hacker?! I turned my head and saw the assassin. He looked...nervous.
