Chapter 16: Nowhere to Cheat

Dscore's pov

I stood back up. "So..you hacked into this world, huh?"

He sighed and explained. "Yes. I found there was an exploit where there is a second of lag between the mind command to tell the player what to do. Knowing this, I was able to predict your next move. But I guess the developer took care of that, huh? Oh well, I can still fight. I mean, I haven't even used my TRUE POWER!"

He threw his jammed gun and short sword to the side, and readied his fists. Suddenly, his hands were surrounded with a dark glow. Gauntlets of pure evil appeared on his hands. I felt...uneasy. And I could tell Sans felt it too. 

Sam ran at him.

"EARTH-SHATTERING OVERHEAD SMASH" He jumped and swung at him but...'

"DARK FIST BREAKER" He punched the mace and sane Sam flying.

"EVIL BEAM" He shot a laser at Sam while she was mid-air. It was so powerful I could hear the sound of her logging out from here.

Sans and I looked at each other. It was just the two of us. He nodded. "Let's do this!" We charged.

"OVERHEAD SLASH" I swung at his head.

"DARK FIST BREAKER" I expected that. I faked him out and used

"SHIELD THROW" My shield bounced off his fist and my slash landed on him.

"SLASH COMBO" I slashed at him again and again, each time he blocked the sword with his hands.

"FURY KICKS" He tripped me with a sweep kick and kicked me away as I was falling.

"GRAVITY SHIFT" Sans threw him into a nearby tree.

"KARMIC RETRIBUTION" The purple orbs. No way he could stop this. But somehow...he dodged them all so easily!

"KARMIC RETRIBUTION BEAM" Sans shot a laser that hit but didn't do much damage because he blocked. This guy is impossible! I Ran back at him.

"CRYSTAL SHOWERS" I shot crystals at him from above. He dodged to the left.

"SNIPE SHOT" I took aim with my pistol and hit him in the shoulder.

"BONE DAGGER THROW" He threw a dragon-tooth dagger at me and it hit my right arm. I pulled it out, but poison was already taking effect. "Need to heal up! You've got this!"

I started healing the poison. Without my dominant arm, I wouldn't be much help. Sans could do it, he HAD to do it!

Sans pov

This is it....all my training...It's all been for this!

"FINAL JUDGEMENT" I was surrounded by the dome. Me and him. So far not exploding..that's good. Everything was going well. Until we got to the lazer part. I started to lose focus! "GAAAAH!....Come on....!" I desperately tried to restore balance to the lazer. I took a deep breath...and...

I did it. "GUILTY!" The lazer intensified, and the screams of the assassin could be heard. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH! WHAT DID YOOOOOOOU DOOOOO?!?!?!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-" The sound died out.

When the dust settled, there I was. Untouched. But where our attacker once stood, was now a pile of burnt ashes. I did it. I mastered my final attack!

Later:

"Hello! This is Aiko, in WHAT'S NEW IN NLO! Today, we just received word of an encounter in the elf village. All the monsters were evacuated as not one, but TWO parties decided to take down ONE person! All of Scy's party members were defeated, but it appears two survivors were found at the assassin's death. Sans, the one wearing an eyepatch, and Dscore, the one wearing glasses. It seems the attacker was finished in a very powerful explosion. This raises the questions, 'who was that mysterious person? How was he able to kill Scythus? And how more interesting could the upcoming tournament get?' Stay tuned to find out!".........
