I was so cheerful for the rest of the day. I couldn't help but smile at everything that happened while I was working. Even when a little old lady came in and dropped seaweed salad all over the floor, my face was still glowing as I cleaned it up. That had to have been one of the best days I've had at work for a while now.

It was coming time to close. I had the closing shift. I hated the closing shift just because there was so much to do. You have to do a sweep of the store to make sure it's clean. Take the money out of the cash register. Put the items back where they belong if some kids took them and rearranged the store without me knowing. But tonight was different. I was still gleaming even though the closing shift sucked monkey balls. I had something to look forward to. Well someone to look forward to.

It was around 10:00 p.m when I did my last sweep of the store. He said he was coming over, but he never said when. I was hoping he knew when I got off today, so he didn't wait outside. I locked the front door of the store and I started for home.

It was extremely dark. The street lights didn't light the way like they were supposed to. The sky was very clear. I looked up at the stars to find the big dipper. I found it and it looked so beautiful. I was thinking about how when I got home, Haruka and I could sit in my backyard and watch the stars light up the night sky. But everything changed when I heard those footsteps behind me.

I looked behind my shoulder to see a man dressed in a black hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. I stood there for a moment thinking that maybe he was just walking home like I was. Boy was I wrong.

All of a sudden I see the man running towards me. He has his one hand in his pocket. I freaked out. I started to run as fast as I could. These high heeled sandals weren't making that very easy. I could see the man gaining speed on me. I was terrified.

In that moment I started to scream. I screamed as loud as I could. I knew no one could hear me, but I had a sliver of hope that maybe a police officer was right around the corner. I was wrong.

While I was running, my one shoe fell off, so I just left it. Yes they cost a good amount of money, but I wasn't about to turn around and ask the man to stop running at me so I could get my shoe. I started to feel out of breath. Damn cheeseburger I ate for dinner. The guy caught up to me and reached out for my hair. I turned around before he could grab it, and I swung my bag at him. My bag must have been heavy because he fell to the ground fairly fast.

I was still screaming and running when I saw a guy standing in front of me. He looked exactly like the other guy, but he was a bit more muscular. I turned around to go the other way, but the other guy had caught up to me. The guy behind me grabbed my harms and held me in place. I was still screaming. At this point my voice was practically hoarse.

The guy that was in front of me looked at me, smiled, and then took a white handkerchief out of his pocket. He put it up to my nose, and I don't remember a single thing after that.
